Ulcers after tooth removal

Posting for traffic!
Had impacted wisdom tooth removed a week ago under GA. It was sore and I was swollen after but what is worse now is massive ulcer next to it and a massive ulcer the opposite side on my tongue. They’re so bloody painful and make eating impossible. I mean the pain is constant as you use your mouth permanently!! Keep taking cocodamol which isn’t ideal and used anbesol gel and salt water rinses… ahh other advice?!

AIBU for wishing I’d kept the tooth that wasn’t even bothering me lol!!

It will hurt like hell at first but Listerine works for my canker sores. Keep swishing as long as you can stand every hour or so. I repeat - it will hurt! But after you swish it will feel much better!

Have been doing it with salty water and then actually held some salt on it and it killed me! I’ll have to get some listerine too as it’s so painful. I mean you use your mouth all day long! I wake up and the minute I move my tongue I want to cry!!

Can you get something with lidocaine in it, maybe a toothache gel like Orajel? Won't solve the problem but might give you some temporary relief.

I find that honestly the best thing is about half a teaspoon of salt mixed in a couple of teaspoons of water and dabbed directly on to the sore 2 or 3 times in a row. It stings like mad, sometimes makes the ulcer bleed but I find that it’s the quickest (and cheapest) way to make them heal up.

Yes I did this and it did bleed actually!! Guess I’ll have to persevere! Not sure what the bloody dentist did inside my mouth but how can something so small cause so much pain! I want to cry 😆

The anbesol has yes. So hard to make it stay on and not run off but thank you!!

Put bonjela on the ulcers. It helps with the healing and numbs them.
