Is this just normal anxiety

I still live at home with my mum. Back in 2018 she fell down some stairs while we were on holiday. She was injured broken elbow and cut head but nothing life threatening. Recently however I’ve got to the point where even her walking around the house I can’t bear to hear and I cover my ears etc and I’ve got constant images of her falling down the stairs.

No, of course that’s not normal.

You know it's not normal OP hence your post. I think it would be beneficial if you made a Doctors appointment. Good luck, you won't always be this anxious. Flowers

PTSD can give you anxiety and flashbacks. You need to speak to your GP.

No idea, see your GP.

You've not given much context and the event was 6 years ago, how is her mobility and is it reasonable to be a bit worried or aware of her movements because actually there is cause to worry. Your description of constant flash backs etc suggests the worry has got out of proportion though and is not helpful. I would unpick it a bit, does she need some aids or assessment about getting around safely ? Can you get this to be more in proportion in your mind and If not, talk to your GP.

It’s fine she’s a healthy 49 year old
