AIBU to think losing a stone would smooth my body?

So I’ve recently had a baby and most would say I’ve bounced right back to how I was before and I agree. I’m so very grateful to have been lucky enough to get my body back but thing is I was a stone heavier than I would have liked before I got pregnant but not overweight. I’m small with small bones and a short torso so I need to be on the skinnier side to really look my best. I was at my proper ideal weight 5 years ago when I went on my weight loss journey and felt amazing about myself. I was less lumpy looking in clothes but not as smooth as I wanted even back then but I wasn’t really working out which I am trying to now. Will I get the same body back when I lose this stone or should I go for a stone and a half to get myself how I want to be? Sorry if this is triggering

I think I'd aim for a stone and then see how you look and feel after that.

TwattyMcFuckFace · 28/05/2024 17:11

Dunno, try it and see? 🤷‍♂️

We have no clue what you look like so only you can say really.

Thanks. I can post pictures to compare.

Well, why not just get fitter & toned? The number on the scale is unimportant.

Eat healthily & exercise...

you don't need 'a number'

I think you look 🔥in both tbh! I think focus on the working out rather than weight itself. Get strong and build muscle and see how your body looks, then adjust from there?

Thanks so much. I really want to tone up too. I’ve started to do home workouts to help get my strength back and my core is coming back

Your body will change over time.
i still have a dress that I bought when I was 16.
it still fits but it looks awful.
focus on staying active and heathy and learning to love your warrior body - it grew and gave life to A HUMAN BEING, the changes are your war trophies 🙏

You look similar size in both and gorgeous! I'd say a stone might be too much, but you know your own body. Make sure you do it nice and slowly though, or it won't stay off and makes your stomach really messed up.
You honestly look great. So I'd say not to worry!

Mañanarama · 28/05/2024 17:33

You look great. I am a similar shape and also short in the torso and after having kids I’ve never ever got my waist back. I look solid round the middle and the high waisted trend is dreadful on me. But I like biscuits too much to fix it.

MaryMack · 29/05/2024 14:16

You look absolutely fine. Bodies change after childbirth.

BippityBopper · 29/05/2024 14:22

I don't think the weight loss will help with the "smoothness" as you say.

Bouncing back quickly (i.e. rapid weight loss) can lead to saggy skin. Over time it can smooth out. Also, you might have diastisis recti, so you'll need to focus on those deep core muscles to try to rectify that.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. You look great in all the pics!

Congratulations on the birth!
How are you finding motherhood?

Some people are lumpy OP and some are not. I am lumpy, ginger, short with blue/white flabby skin whether I am a size 10 or a size 18 (as I am now, but at my age I don't really care too much). Losing weight just makes my lumps slightly less pronounced.
My sister is the same height and size as me but is blond, darker skinned and smooth with no lumps. She looks much thinner than me because she can wear clothes that fit instead of oversized ones.

Magpie50 · 12/06/2024 00:36

You look great OP. Although if you want to get toned you could try pilates. Done wonders for me!

Singleandproud · 12/06/2024 00:53

How recently did you have a baby and are you breastfeeding? You need to take it cautiously with exercise for at last the first 6 months, possibly longer if breastfeeding as your hormones keep your ligaments etc looser from pregnancy and it takes a while for all of those things to get back to their 'structural integrity' after pregnancy so you are more prone to injuries.
