Changing mole on dc 4 arm?

Hello

About 4 weeks ago I noticed a raised mole/wart on my ds(4) arm. I took him to the gp last week but the doctor wasn’t concerned. She told me he’s probably had trauma to the arm (he hasn’t) but to monitor and check his armpits for any lumps?

I went home and sent a photo off using the skin vision app. It came back high risk and advised it to be examined.

I decided to scroll back onto my camera roll to see if I could pinpoint when it appeared. I found photos from mid march of the mole however it was smaller and different in appearance. However, February the mole is not there.

Imp it’s changed rapidly. I’ll attach a photo from March and a photo from today (in todays photo he’s wearing the beige t shirt). Does anyone have any experience with anything similar?

I will be taking him back to GP as soon as they give an appointment.

Hi @Ka3090 - I really empathise with you!! I absolutely hate it when the kids are unwell in some way and you don’t feel satisfied with the advice you get from the GP. It’s worrying and plays on your mind.

i do think that at this age though, moles and marks do tend to appear suddenly- at least they have with my DD. I guess I haven’t taken much notice of them when they have appeared because I have a ton of moles on my arms and back so I assumed she was just starting to take after me!

Having said that, i think you should trust your gut and push to get it checked - even if just for peace of mind, particularly now you have the photos you can show.

We live in Aus where we are strongly encouraged to have moles that have changed investigated. I would definitely have that seen again but preferably by someone who had some experience with skin issues. Most surgeries here will have a “skin doctor” but I guess they might not be as common where you are.
