First one,4am, terribly drunk 39 yr old woman, came round our little bend (30 zone) doing 60 at least, hit neighbours car flew up in the air landed on its roof on someone elses car so therefore writing 3 cars off in the matter of second! She got herself out the car btw, making sure she grabbed her mobile phone before she did - stupid women DO went to her rescue and she said in a rather snotty tone "id rather you didnt ring the police Im drunk)
Second one. 5am, about 8 doors up, another drunk drive too fast round the corner (about 40 mins after first crash) hit railings, so the fire engine who was attending the crash on my door step just reversed back up the road to deal with other crash.
Third one around 9am, after we'd managed to get the boys back into bed and get a few hours sleep ourselves, i heard more commotion outside. There was yet another car accident, only this time our car (which was safely parked down the street for the first two) was missed by inches apparently, two teenage boys went head on into a big wagon bounced back and just missed our car.
The only road into our little valley has been shut for hours will all the clean up. Im not sure if its a result of the road just being resurfaced or just people being wreckless, im quite worried about living here now. What happens if its our car next time, or even worse our house!, The first one actually pushed our neighbours car right up against our door, so she could have very well ended up in our lounge and it would have been a whole lot worse than it was.
Thankfully I dont think anyone was seriously hurt, just all shaken up. Would i be unreasonable to write to the council asking for spped bumps just along the road where this little row of house is?
Its basically a country road, we have 30 signs up at the beginning of where the houses start and one of them flashing slow down signs the other end (which obviously does no good at all!) I know they have done it in other parts of the town where we live and it would slow people right down. There are quite often elderly people crossing the road here, or mums with small children, could e one of them next time
