How likely is my child to stop sleeping though by this age please…..? Am I generally out of the woods do you think?

Basically Dd sleeps through usually 7-7. She’s 19 months and has done this for around a year.

I recently split with her dad and have taken on a huge huge role at a new company. This is going to involve a lot of responsibility and focus especially as I’m new to the role. I am suddenly panicking about what I would do if dd stops sleeping so well. I wouldn’t be able to cope well at all especially as ex has moved several hours away so isn’t even on hand to help on a daily basis. Am I out of the woods now?

I know obviously illness and teething could affect it but I mean generally, would regression be rare at this stage? I am considering taking the role part time to begin with instead.

I would have thought so. Early waking is a likely phase but it sounds as though she’s a good sleeper.

Congratulations on your new job. Its impossible to know with kids. My dd took about 2 years to learn to sleep but them became like clockwork. Don't panic about things that haven't happened, you'll be amazed at what you can cope with.

@Skykidsspy is this something yet to come?! Dd is my first so I am not very knowledgeable about it! How early?!

@WonderingWanda thanks. Already hanging on by a thread after the break up and feel like anything could break me at this point. Nervous of things going badly

Ahh please don't worry OP.

Parents (especially mums!) are remarkably resilient and if she does regress, I'm sure you'll cope just as you would if she was ill/teething.

But fingers crossed for you both and congratulations on your new job Flowers

So my baby did 7-7 for a year or so… about 2 months ago at 20 months she suddenly started waking in the night and would not sleep until my husband slept on her floor. It was awful as I’m currently pregnant and already sleeping badly! We never sleep trained as she just got in when she was younger but we had to sleep train with her! It worked though and she only cried (and was definitely sounding more annoyed than upset!) one night for less than and hour and she started sleeping again. That said we also cut her nap to an hour and changed her routine (stopped the bottle!) but it has worked. she’s generally really tricky at the moment, demanding independence and trying to pick and choose. she was sooo easy until 2 months ago. She won’t go in the pram at all and as of today has decided not to walk either. She wants to be carried! She’s also resisting hair washing etc.

But adding to this… when I’ve asked friends if their kids did this too (looking for reassurance!!) I’ve found most either don’t remember or it didn’t happen!
