To want my full title on my badge

I might sound very pedantic here but months ago I went for head of department. Didn’t get it. Was offered another role that involved being a lead though. The HOD role was initially advertised with the curriculum lead role at the time but as I didn’t get his role they wanted me to have curriculum lead so they split it.

On the school website he is listed as Head of maths and curriculum lead. And I’m still listed as “teacher of mathematics” however I interviewed for the curriculum lead role after I didn’t get hod role so it feels like it should be mine by rights. Also, his badge says “teacher of maths and curriculum lead” mines just “teacher of mathematics”

This may just be my autistic mind being pedantic. But honestly. I worked for that role and interviewed for it. It’s mine by rights.

AIBU for feeling annoyed and unrecognised?

Absolutely! While it may be an everyday sexism “We forgot” (translates to, “We didn’t expect you to kick up a fuss”), you have earned your place and these little details matter when it comes to the respect of your colleagues, parents, etc - and also for resume purposes if you are looking elsewhere in the future. You need your title changed on website as well as badge.

This. Nothing petty about ensuring you’re acknowledged in your role.

Why would you not want your full title on your badge?

How do you get to this point in your career but are scared to ask to have your full job title on your badge.

In my school our ID badges do not have anyone's job title on, just our names -they are a safeguarding measure that allow you to enter the school, not for people to know what your job is.

I believe King Charles wanted this but was advised that the 'badge' would be so large he wouldn't be able to get through the door of the State Coach!

So you may see, if you can zoom in, when he is wandering about a shotgun cartridge factory or water cress pond, that hIs 'badge' merely has 'Chas 3' engraved in gold on it.

@DietrichandDiMaggio

I'm not talking about your situation, this is about OP's.

Clearly in OP's organisation, full job titles are printed on badges for some, and she would like her full job title on hers.
