So mon-Fri alarm goes off at 615, I get up at 630 do 15 min physio stretches (back pain) get ds up do breakfast and dress (ds is autistic he needs lots of time between transitions) leave at 8 to walk to school (20 min walk) dh gets up at 5 goes gym and then work.

Mon- weds I have 'free time' between 9-3 I do the following-
Monday
Walk dog 45 min
Zumba and yoga classes 2.5 hours
Lunch 30 min
Clean bathrooms/do washing/dishwasher etc 1.5 hours
Walk dog 45 min

Tuesday
Walk dog 45 min
Hoover/dust/washing etc 2 hours
Lunch 30 min
Visit elderly parents 2 hours (often have to do tasks for them)
Walk dog 45 min

Wednesday
Walk dog 45 min
Weights and Pilates 2.5 hours
Lunch 30 min
Do any house jobs/admin or see friends for coffee or go food shopping 1.5
Walk dog 45min

After school I spend time with ds, make tea, do homework (ds needs lots of support) Do pots and sort any washing. Dh gets home at 6 has his tea and entertains ds. We do ds bed time. Sit down about 830 watch a bit of tv or read. Bed 930.

I work Thursday, Friday, Saturday. 9-5 in customer service admin role not stressful although I do find peopling hard at times. Morning and evenings are same.

I get a slight lay in Saturday until 815 before work . Dh gets lay in Sunday until 9/930. On Sunday we are seeing family, walking dog, dh catches up on any jobs, sometimes we have a day out.

I am exhausted all the time, then if there's anything extra happening like a holiday, Xmas, someone's ill. I end up really run down and ill myself. My iron does drop but currently ok, I've had low vitd in past but take supplements. I do get anxious/stressed easily. I am autistic. I eat healthily but can snack when tired usually crisps or sweets . I have insomnia , will sleep from around 945 till anytime between 3-5 then wide awake.

I generally feel tired/ not great but then if I'm extra busy/stressed I'll get fatigue/sinus pain/headache and nausea. This sometimes develops in to full cold which I end up in bed for several days. This usually happens every month or two.

I'm 45 possibly peri. I get heavy frequent periods, night sweats , mood dips plus the fatigue etc.

Is it normal to constantly feel exhausted. Is there something I could be doing differently? Should I go gp? ( feel like I get fobbed off)

I do all the exercise to ward off back issues. Non work days my steps are around 20k

Sorry for long post Flowers

It’s the insomnia. Your life sounds pretty well balanced, you’re fitting in exercise and you’re in bed a sensible amount of time… it’s the fact you’re not sleeping when in bed.

You absolutely need to go to GP and ask for hormone tests with a view to HRT. Get thyroid, iron, vit D and B12 tested while you’re at it. Don’t leave without the blood test form.

And no it’s not normal to feel like this

VanCleefArpels · 20/05/2024 11:03

For a start off you are doing a LOT of exercise which will inevitably make you tired. The dog walking plus gym type exercising nearly every day is more than many women half your age do!

But the lack of sleep screams menopause to me, it was one of my main symptoms. I’d be going to talk to your GP about HRT. I found it restored my energy levels almost immediately

TipsyKoala · 20/05/2024 11:04

You actually sound like you have a good balance with some down time, so the insomnia and fatigue is not normal. See GP about it and the peri.

GerbilsForever24 · 20/05/2024 11:10

You don't sleep enough and clearly are suffering from peri menopause. I think its time to look into HRT - most of the women I know who started on HRT found the single biggest immediate improvement was better sleep, which makes you feel better almost immediately.

Thank you everyone. I'm going to book in with doctor. I might write it all down (symptoms)

Anyone have regular sinus issues? I take antihistamines and occasionally end up on antibiotics if pain gets bad.
