Hi all,
I don't think I'm being unreasonable here but I really need some advice as I'm getting really stressed out with work, so posting here for traffic mainly. Apologies if this is long.
So for context I'm almost 29 weeks pregnant and work a minimum of 20 hours in a retail bakery, I had a work related pregnancy risk assessment completed at the beginning of March, which to date only 1 out of the special measures that were put in place have been followed. I have a previous thread about this.
It is now getting to the point that I'm really struggling. I'm being put on late shifts solo with a huge list of jobs left for me to do. I'm stuck on my feet for 7-8 hours straight with it being almost impossible to have a break long enough to sit down, I'm not getting home from some shifts until almost 10pm, then having to travel back to work the next day at 6am for another 7-8 hours. I'm almost passing out daily with the heat, due to being around hot ovens and food all that time, not to mention the change in weather (I then get wrong for removing some layers due to the uniform being set specifically, i.e thick chef jacket, branded top and apron, all black).
I spoke to my manager again this week as my feet are like puddings, my back is constantly aching, the overheating/dizziness and exhaustion is starting to peak. They agreed they would move me to a less demanding role (checkouts), and would extend my hours over more days so my shifts would be shorter, aswell as not allowing me to do lates anymore. However this won't start until 2nd week in June and will only last 3 weeks due to me then going on mat leave.
Today I've come home from work and noticed all my shifts already rotaed have changed. Annoyingly shift pattern is still the same, I'm stuck on 3 days at 20+ hours, 1 week they've randomly took 7 1/2 hours off me and I'm still apparently doing late shifts longer than I'm even doing now, so I'll finish at 9.30pm and not get home until almost 11pm.
I'm so close to quitting but I need the job to go back to. Wtf can I do here? Surely this isn't appropriate treatment!
