Wheelchairs & wheelie bins

Walking the dog this morning, all bins out for collection and it got me thinking...

If you're a wheelchair-user, how do you manage wheelie bins?

They're cumbersome even for people with full mobility but they're also a totally impractical height for wheelchair users!

DF was a wheelchair user - we notified his council and they collected from the side passage by the house.

Elderly NDN uses a wheelchair/ scooter and I put out and bring in her bins from the boundary. Our pavement is tricky though as cars are allowed to park on the pavement (a narrow street of Edwardian houses) so on bin day she has to wheel herself down the middle of the road!

Carers or neighbours do mine.

I also thought you meant getting round them in the street which is definitely a pain in the arse.
