AIBU TTC in DD GCSE year?

stumpedmummy · 15/05/2024 22:01

as per title,

eldest DD has her GCSES next year. DS in primary school.

I'm 41 and don't want to wait any longer to TTC #3, but am I a dreadful parent for potentially being heavily pregnant while DD does her GCSEs?

Only if you know you’re a miserable or very unwell person during pregnancy.

I have to say that I do think a 16yo might be a bit miffed at this.

I cannot see why this would be an issue. As long as you dont plan a newborn to arrive before july.

Cant see why her being in GCSE year is particularly relevant. You can’t study for her.

Why would it matter?

I would have loved it as I loved babies as a teen .

Your mum can’t do the GCSEs for you. Go for it!

My DD's friend ended up sharing a bedroom with a newborn whilst sitting her exams which I don't think was a brilliant plan but I can't see how being pregnant would be a problem.

Why the hell wasnt the newborn in with the parent?! How selfish is that!

Do you mean in the age sense ie is your eldest too old for a little sibling? If so, I would unfortunately say the age gap would be too big for me personally and I’d have to agree with a PP that your teen may feel a certain way towards the decision

What do your existing children need? Will your wants prevent them getting what they need?
