So my boss told me they have had a bereavement (their uncle) who passed after a long illness. It wasn’t told to staff widely as far as a I know. I had messaged them (I’m on sick leave) and they said they weren’t in the office at the moment and told me about the passing. I obviously offered condolences, if I can do anything to help etc. I return from leave tomorrow. I probably won’t see them aorind as they’ll be in their office so AIBU to knock in to office and offer condolences for their uncle’s passing? Or is that an intrusion since I said it on text and I should leave it? What would you do?

If you've already said it by email/text I wouldn't say it again, especially as you'd have to go and find them. But it depends how close you are to them - if they are also a friend I would check in with them.
