Right, that’s it, I’m going carb free

It’s the only thing that’s worked for me in the past. So tired of feeling tired and ill, looking awful and having no confidence. I’m a larger size 16 now and really need to lose it and go back to how I was, I felt amazing slimmer, physically and mentally, could wear what I liked instead of hiding away feeling ashamed.
My plan is to cut out bread, potatoes and pasta completely. I’m guessing a little rice would be ok and some cereal/oats?
Any tips please? 🙏 I’m getting desperate now and feeling really low

Why are you eating carbs? If its because it makes an easy meal whete the carb is 80%+ of the meal, like toast, sandwiches, pasta+ [sauce] etc then it's pointless because yu aren't addressing a root problem like meal planning.

If you just love carbs, get better quality meals from them - sourdough at the weekend, small quality pasta with with big salad etc.

So, why do you eat carbs?

Probably because most people don’t have time or budget to whip up a cooked breakfast on a weekday or to take a chicken and avocado salad for packed lunch. I did this pre-DC but definitely can’t do it now. It’s cereal for breakfast and butties for lunch.

Don't go completely carb free. And why would you exclude rice or oats? They are no better, I'd keep potatoes with skins before either or those.

Cut the worst carbs - processed white ones. Swap everything for brown and reduce portion sizes and cut sugar, including the most sugary fruits like mango, grapes and bananas and stick to berries like strawberries, raspberries & blackberries. Avoid "low fat" products as these often just have sugar and sweeteners.

I agree with this. SW works if you stick to it. I lost 4 stone, 6 years ago on SW and kept all the weight off. I know what works for me. I eat a small amount of carbs but I love bread and I eat nimble bread. For me it is the only diet that has worked. I am on HRT and in my fifties.

If you're determined to do it I remembered a couple other things.
You can eat full fat mayo, the best is to make your own. It's just egg yolks, then slowly but vigorously whisk in olive oil (or other oil you prefer), then add herbs and spices.
You can dip things in it and use as dressing.
Add parmesan to that and an anchovy, grate more onto grilled chicken and salad for Caesar.
You can't usually use any sugared sauces like sriracha, only hot sauce. But you can make a Vietnamese dipping sauce with fish sauce, garlic, vinegar, chilli and hot water. Tiny bit of sweetener.
