Not to want to pay for a taxi?

I live in London and hate paying for taxis after a night out if at all possible. Happy to go on public transport, late tubes and night buses.

Went out last night with a group of friends, one of whom lives near to me. We were in a bar, it got to about 12.30/12.45 and we started saying our goodbyes. Friend said she was a bit tired (not drunk - she had only had a couple of drinks) and would I like to share a cab?

I said no, there were plenty of people about and I was happy to go on the bus as I had a bus pass and it wouldn't cost me anything extra. She muttered for a bit and then joined me on the bus. I got off two stops before her and she sent me a text saying she was home ok.

Her husband has just phoned me, calling me really selfish for putting her 'at risk' by not sharing a cab. He was horrible! Total cab fare would have been around £25/£30.

What do you think?

YANBU. Tell the husband to p off. You were not babysitting this firend, she is an adult, and if she was so bothered she should have go the cab herself, or if she was really keen on the company, got it and paid for the whole trip.

Maybe your friend doesn't know he phoned. Or maybe she was complaining about you. Either way, he is out of order, and you totally were not.
