Hives and swollen face every morning

My DP is waking up every morning with hives and a swollen face.

Any ideas as to what could be causing it? Could it be a delayed reaction from something he ate the day before?

Is he fine when he goes to bed? My first thoughts are dust mite and pollen allergies, as it seems to occur overnight. Try to get him tested for those. Weekly wash bedding at 60 and tumble dry if possible. Use bedding protectors and wash them same frequency too.

My ds face has a tendency to swell from hayfever. Such a panic the first time it happened! Antihistamines keep up in check for us.

I had similar after a virus. Mine would appear early evening and be gone by mid morning. I thought it was food induced at first but seemed to happen whatever I ate. Luckily mine was on my arms and legs but wasn’t on my face. I saw a dermatologist who diagnosed virus induced urticaria. He gave me a treatment plan and it slowly got better. It might be worth while seeing a dermatologist.

@Riversideandrelax waits for dermatology are sadly very long. Mine basically told me to stop stressing about allergies, avoid steroids as although they clear it up it just comes back and prescribed megadoses of anti histamines plus being patient.
