To be Struggling with the challenges of managing people in my own business?

NC as don't want posts linked

I'm reaching out because I'm struggling with the challenges of managing people in my own business. I find myself constantly dealing with employees who are either entitled, rude, ask silly questions, don't appreciate that I'm human, think I have an endless pit of money to throw at any problem, or require excessive attention.

Running my own business is already stressful, and these issues with employees are really taking a toll on me. I'm feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, and I'm not sure how to cope with these challenges effectively.

To make matters worse, my business currently has debts, so selling it is not an immediate option. I feel stuck and unsure of how to move forward.

I understand that managing people is a part of running a business, but I'm hoping to find some strategies or advice from others who have faced similar situations. How do you handle difficult employee behaviors and attitudes? What steps can I take to create a more positive and productive work environment? Are there any resources or support systems that have helped you navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship?

I would greatly appreciate any insights, experiences, or suggestions you can share. Thank you in advance

How many staff are you managing? Can you get a team manager in place?

There's about ten - already a manager who isn't actually the perfect fit but I'm worried to make a change in case it unnerves everyone

I think you need some agency here, if you own the business and these are your employees then surely you hired them? So they know what is expected them in a clear way. Do they have everything they need to do their job? Do they do what is expected? If no to any of these then you need to address it. Ultimately you can choose to let them go or remember why you hired them in the first place. Of course you shouldn't have to deal with none stop whining but it doesn't sound like you enjoy your work either. I'd look for some coaching around managing, setting objectives and building a positive culture.
