Liz and Damian Hurley on Loose Women today

Did anyone watch? It was about the movie he directed with her in it. Liz said she felt so comfortable during the shoot as she knew someone who loves her looked out for her, meaning Damian. They also say they are each others confidantes and more like siblings rather than mother and son and that they very much lean onto each other. There were a few more things that seemed off. Then the played the game of 'which one of you is most likely to sneak home late at night' and a few more of those questions. I found it so bizarre and couldn't help but think the Loose Women thought this too.

I kept wondering how they got to this stage and if it isn't a lot of pressure for an adult child to be their mother's confidante and person to lean on. Tbh they seemed more like a couple than mother and son. Very bizarre.

He comes across as a very polite, kind young man. Which is a lot more than some of the twats on here picking apart the looks of a 22 year old who has done nothing to deserve it. Nasty!

Canwehavefun · 10/05/2024 20:36

The photo shoots are definitely weird.

cerisepanther73 · 10/05/2024 20:37

@Abitboring

I think 🤔 it's expecting far too much from a grown up child to be a confidant and it seems unhealthy intense co dependency emeshed far too much

She comes across as far too needy and vunerable,
Her grown up son is far much of someone she leans onto,

Which is suffocating intense...

He needs space and she should turn to widee circle of good friends other family members to lean on
Not expecting it to be him...

Alittlefrustrated · 10/05/2024 20:42

They made it clear they have their private lives, which they don't discuss with each other. I don't think they are weird at all. Mother and son love each other and ger on well - shocker. I agree he has an odd profile - but he's still stunning. Not many people are perfect from every angle.

I guess there are mothers who see and treat their sons like a 'little husband' from a young age.

I thought we all had an agreement not to quite go there with our posts😁

Abitboring · 10/05/2024 22:20

@ClareBlue excuse me? This is a phenomenon in psychology and nothing sexual.

I dont find anything weird about it. They're very close and that's a unique and special thing worth treasuring.

0wlQueen · 10/05/2024 22:24

I didn't watch this interview but I think I had made the observation before that there was possibly some enmeshment going on.

I'm a single mum of an 18 year old and he won't even talk to me atm. In a way, perhaps that's some sort of enmeshment too. I can't judge Liz.

slaggybumbum · 10/05/2024 22:27

I have a lovely, polite son, but I’d be a bit fucking bothered if he started wearing/styling his hair like mine!

Abitboring · 10/05/2024 22:29

@slaggybumbum or you got him to take photos of you posing in a bikini? Or shooting sex scenes on a film set?

JanglingJack · 10/05/2024 22:36

After all the press about the photos and the film, I thought they came across as rather lovely.

One thing that resonated with me was the single mum thing. Relationships as such are so much closer because they are.

He came across (apart from posh) as a well adjusted young man, they both eww'd at the thought of sharing any relationship details and the whole ping pong bat thing was just light entertainment.

I thought it was good to see them larking about being mother and son and not just see salacious stories.

Not that I watch Loose Women 🤣

Why call it something that is generally specifically a sexual relationship then.

Abitboring · 10/05/2024 23:16

@ClareBlue it's called emotional incest.

Just saw a clip from today's show on tik toks: Liz said 'i made him....forced him to take all my Elizabeth hurley beach photos'. Bizarre.

I'm a single mum. My eldest 24 has no contact with father. We are that close. It's not odd

Abitboring · 10/05/2024 23:24

Damian was born in 2002. Liz was actually married to another man from 2007-2011. Also, hasn't she always remained very close to Hugh Grant. They lived around the corner from each other.

They are very posh and very privileged but probably quite isolated family-wise - wasn't his father a billionaire who wanted nothing to do with him who then took his own life a few years ago?

I think they come across as just really close. A bit different but no less authentic.

Nchanged89 · 10/05/2024 19:28

Weird as fuck the pair of them.

yep

IdaPolly · 11/05/2024 00:59

I saw them on the One Show. Damian has got a posher accent than William and Harry!

ssd · 11/05/2024 10:08

I think if i asked either of my boys to come on Loose Women with me and chat about how close they are to me, they'd run a mile.

And I'd worry if they didn't...

longdistanceclaraclara · 11/05/2024 11:04

I thought he looked liked he's had surgery to look like her, or they go to the same surgeon.

ClareBlue · 10/05/2024 23:03

It’s not a sexual relationship but there is a term for when a parent or carer relies on a child to fulfil emotional needs that would normally be fulfilled by another adult. It’s called emotional incest.

Relationship seems fine to me😂

🤨😂

Poppyg123 · 11/05/2024 21:49

I remember a psychiatrist at the time telling me re: Diana and her sons, that
being ' best friends' with your child never ends well (for the child). I never forgot that.

Damien sounds like a pastiche of a posh person. Seriously, no one speaks like that
