at last the law starts to act on Katie Price.

her disregard for the law and taxes is a disgrace!

@Mrsjayy I've already said that I have never submitted a tax return late nor have I ever made a late payment. I pay my tax in full and it is extremely offensive of you to suggest I don't. But the number of emails from HMRC reminding me to submit my tax return (3 already since the end of the tax year although the final submission date is not until Jan) or reminding me to make payments which have already been made is a joke.

Anyway, back to Katie Price. Presumably her accountant just ignores the emails and given she's not paid her tax she must get a lot more than I do.

I know exactly what you mean about HMRC. I own a small business, everything submitted and paid on time. Yes we get letters reminding us but always with a threat of fines and penalties if late with anything, which I never have been. I don't know how these high earners get away with so much. I wouldn't sleep at night but then they know they can get away with it.

whynotwhatknot · 11/05/2024 11:55

she'll get out of it somehow proabably say harveys got nowhere to visit if she loses her home

BustyLee · 11/05/2024 11:59

RightOnTheEdge · 11/05/2024 08:18

Part of me feels the same OP, but Jett and Bunny live with her don't they?
I can't be excited about two young children losing their home.

Same here. I am not excited about anyone losing their home. She is quite a vulnerable person who, like many of us, has had a lot to deal with in her life and has tried to make as much money as she could for her family in the way that she knows how. In the process of doing this she has been broken. Poor woman. I wish her the best of luck.

And now she has frittered it away to the point of bankruptcy, owing other people money, drink driving offences and possible destitution (ask paul gascoigne how it feels) etc etc.

Fine role model for anyone..

Roll

Another case of a woman who is clearly vulnerable being "built up and then torn down" by the media...

Harks back to the 90's, when women like Katie Price and Gail Porter and Melanie Sykes and Britney Spears were being encouraged to act in a very sexy, attention seeking way and lauded for this.

(And then shamed and manipulated by greedy people without their best interests at heart, who ended up with all the profits from their unstable lifestyle).

Obviously people should pay their taxes.

But can we see more coverage of how dodgy companies and contracts are ripping off public agencies and funds to the tune of hundreds of millions....oh no, we can't read about that...it's because they're all chums with the media people and everyone prefers a woman being torn to shreds than a corrupt organisation being investigated.

I also think big companies should pay their taxes but it doesn't excuse Katie Price from doing so. If I pay mine, and most other people do, then she should as well. I hope they take every penny they can get from her.

“She is a terrible roll model”

To be fair, she made a fortune from displaying her baps.

Brilliant!!

Comfysock · 11/05/2024 23:18

I dont get it...why isnt her accountant paying the bills? Or advising, is KP telling them not to pay?

Where on earth has all her millions gone?

Those are just mailing list mail outs. They’re not personally targeted at you ☺️

Well said. It is so easy to get caught up in the media induced desire to bring someone down, but as a woman I have nothing but sympathy for KP who has suffered with addiction and therefore mental health problems for a while now. I hope she will now accept proper help rather than chasing after dreams of fame with yet another loser fame hungry bloke.

Some advice to KP: Step out of the limelight for a minute, take some time to get well - which means freeing yourself of drugs, alcohol and cosmetic surgery. If you go to a 12 step group to recover go to female only meetings as you also need to stay away from men for bit. It will feel awful but trust me going cold turkey will pay off in the end. When you feel a bit better retrain as a beauty therapist. Then start your own company. Who knows what will come of that. With your fame (or infamy?) it could lead to big things in the future. Good luck!

Comfysock · 11/05/2024 23:18

I think you have to declare things to your accountant, don’t you? She might have a spending account that he has never seen. I have read reports that as soon as she got paid she went off on spending sprees. Ordinary people don’t realise that the wealthy they acquire is very different to the wealth of people born into money. They think that when they receive huge lump sum
payments that it is going to last forever but that only happens when you have money invested in land and property ownership and receive rent from others. Financial investments work on this model too. The money has to yield an income (I know nothing about finance so apologise for the simplification). So people like KP who have lavish lifestyles will always go bankrupt in the end. I saw a tv show where Gemma Collins brother advised her to buy a £600,000 house rather than the big millionaire’s mansion she wanted. She is lucky to have such a wise brother looking out for her.

Natalie1966 · 20/05/2024 23:12

Well the big day is coming, what will happen? I'm guessing the media will show up along with the Police. I hope the Police will be there because Katie will kick up a massive fuss and give the media something to talk about. However Harvey is currently with her at the MM and if he is there on the 29th, all hell will break loose. I'm expecting arrests.

sweetkitty · 20/05/2024 23:23

I feel sorry for her children and her Mum. Also, was no one there to advise her how to invest her money when she was earning it? I would have thought she would have a property portfolio/some sort of investments to fall back on? If I had made the sort of money she had the first thing I would have done was made sure my children’s futures were secure before spending.

She really needs to sort herself out, stop hanging out with younger fame wannabe men, focus on herself and her children. Clean herself up and step out the limelight.

Natalie1966 · 22/05/2024 10:29

@Comfysock - Yes, what did happen to her millions? It was claimed she once had a net worth of 45 million but that was disputed as complete cobblers. One newspaper claimed 30 Million which people really didn't believe. Katie has earned money from books and reality TV however a lot of the money was lost with her divorces. Even after the divorces she had plenty of money but she's managed to spend it on herself. Many believe a lot of the money is hidden as in other people's names or an offshore account. Even being 4 million in debt now she is still having cosmetic surgeries and holidays, money has to be coming from somewhere. The HMRC haven't found it so it's been hidden very well because there isn't a paper trail. A forensic account was brought in so it's been claimed but no bombshell revelations.

Harvestfestivalknickers · 22/05/2024 10:50

It's a shame she didn't have someone sensible advising her when she was younger making all the money she did. Much like football, the big money she made from modelling was always going to be short lived.
From there onwards it was a slippery slope, there's only so many health dramas, divorces, inappropriate relations, cosmetic surgeries, pet deaths and addiction issues people can tolerate before sympathy runs out.
For those people saying she shouldn't be homeless, she should have sold the house years ago and moved into something she could afford. She's doing herself and her family no favours by lurching from one self inflicted crisis to another. I really wish someone sensible could help her with her affairs because I don't see it getting better any time soon.

MissBattleaxe · 30/07/2024 18:18

And now she's dodged another bankruptcy hearing and there's a warrant out for her arrest.

Why is it when you have a lot of plastic surgery on your face that you end up looking like a cat?

Jc2001 · 30/07/2024 21:49

Therageisreal · 10/05/2024 19:33

Is this a civil case rather than criminal?

Pretty sure it's criminal when it comes to tax.

MissBattleaxe · 30/07/2024 22:14

Yes it's criminal, not civil. It's HMRC among others.
