On my second course of antibiotics in a couple of months, feeling a bit rubbish and sorry for myself. Has anyone else had to have antibiotics recently? Have they worked?!

I'm 58 and I've only had one lot of antibiotics as an adult. I had an infected bursitis. They gave me penicillin and turns out I'm allergic. It did cure the infection but 2 years later my skin still isn't fully recovered from the rash from the allergy.

Hope you feel better soon OP.

Nothing. Some for a bowel op 7 years ago and before that for a chest infection in 2010.
They make me really ill.

Chest infection which kicked off my asthma. I hate taking antibiotics as I ALWAYS get thrush

Haven't had antibiotics since we left the UK. Back then, so about 7 years ago, I had some for mastitis.
I luckily don't get ill much, though. I had sinusitis a few months ago (dragged on for weeks) and my GP suggested I gargle with sage tea and inhale some steam...
I'm pregnant, which is why he wouldn't prescribe anything. My OB/GYN eventually told me to get some children's nose spray.
