Need to ask ex to take dog to vet

My dog needs to go to the vet she’s showing signs of being in pain as she has been eating less, licking her paws excessively and making swallowing and gulping sounds all the time. I can’t take her and I have family nearby who can’t commit to taking her any time soon but they have in the past when they were able. I don’t have friends in real life to ask as I only socialise online or with my neighbours but am not close enough to them to ask.
My ex boyfriend who I don’t see would do it for me as they love my dog very much but when I have asked him in the past he has sort of tried to use it as an opportunity to get back with me but on that occasion a family member told me they could take her after all. I don’t know how to ask him when he wants to get back together or how I would manage it as he lives several hours away and would probably want to sleep over. I don’t have feelings for him any more but he is very pushy.

Where in Moray are you?

I could maybe help out if you're close to me.

sorry but if you can take her to the park you can take her to the vets. this is animal abuse!

Some dog walkers offer a pet taxi service for a charge. They will have the correct insurance to provide this service.

While this isnt't necessarily true I do think that you aren't really in a position to have a dog if your MH means you can't meet its basic needs.
However, your dog is probably better off with you than in a Rescue or similar.
There are companies who will take a pet to the vets for you but its expensive.
I think whatever problems it causes you with your ex will just have to deal with as the priority is to get your dog to the vet asap and if your Ex is the only one who can do it then thats your only option
