Should I Ask For A Second Opinion From Another Consultant?

Hi,
Need some help/advice my daughter has ADHD, Dyslexia, developmental coordination disorder (Dyspraxia) and possible autism which we are awaiting an assessment for.
She has borderline tibial torsion 30/32 and femoral anteversion 40/48.
The Paediatric trauma and orthopedic consultant my daughter is under has said for years that she may need to have femoral derotation osteotomy (surgery to correct the position of her femurs). She’s been diagnosed with Dyspraxia in the last 8 months. Now her consultant has said he wouldn’t do surgery as it could make the Dyspraxia worse?
Anyone been in a similar situation or can advice on what I should do, should I ask for a second opinion?
I thought the operation would possibly help the Dyspraxia in her legs as she complains of leg pain all the time and often trips / falls because of her legs turning in due to the anteversion.
She currently wears orthotics and has tried physiotherapy but without markers on the floor showing her where and how to put her feet she forgets what to do.

Thank you

Have you asked him why the op could make the dyspraxia worse? And how likely that would be?

Yeah and I haven't got any answer! He just says it could make the dyspraxia worse 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've told him I'd rather she had the operation sooner rather than later as she is off to high school in 2 years and I don't want her to miss a significant amount of school time for recovery.

He is right, it could be impossible for her brain to learn the new shape and position of her legs. But it depends if it really needs doing, as the longer it is left the harder it will be.

Not medical, but dyspraxic
