May is my birthday month and I love it now. Was a different story all my life until I finished university as I pretty much always had an exam on my birthday and so did everyone else so could never celebrate lol!

Keep it going for May.

May used to be a bit of none month - neither Spring nor Summer. But then my glorious DD2 arrived and now it is always full of pure joy.

I love it because it’s spring and all the nature that comes with it. But also from a proper grinch view… it’s one of the few months where there’s not a “thing”. No easter, Halloween, Christmas or birthdays in our family. Don’t get me wrong I love most of those things but it’s nice to have a bit of a spending break.

I'm another May birthday, and so is my elder daughter. I love it because of the freshness, everything feels hopeful not jaded and dusty like late summer. Often the nicest weather of the year. Having DD in May was so amazing, I remember those early weeks like a lovestruck dream, wandering around comparing blossom in hedgerows and flowers in meadows unfavourably to her cheeks!

It's true about exams on your birthday forever and ever but I didn't mind much- May was also the month the fair came to town (usually at Whitsun), one of the annual highlights of my childhood! I used to go every year with my brother and sister and dad, so exciting, and then later with friends after school. £1 a ride, £1.50 a toffee apple, a tenner would give you a rip-roaring good time!

May and June are my favourite spring months, lots of lovely flowers and colour before the heat gets too intense (assuming we get sunshine soon!). After that I love late September, early October.

I love May too! Usually good weather (jury's out so far this year though!), spring in full swing, the whole summer ahead of us, and two bank holidays.

The only bad thing I can think of is that young people often have exams in May so it can be a stressful month when you're studying. But those years are far behind me now Grin

It's a sunny May day today.

Lovely thread 🥰

I love the turning off the season, bank holidays and welcoming warmer brighter days

Lovely May ! New green shoots everywhere, birds singing, lambs in the fields .
A previous poster in Glasgow said it hadn’t stopped raining and was miserable, I’m just to the north of Glasgow and we’ve had lovely days sitting out in the garden , I’ve had to water pots as when it has rained it hasn’t been enough . People’s perception of weather varies greatly!

Yes it's a lovely month and I hadn't really thought about it before! I noticed yesterday just how full the trees are looking now, and I love the smell and look of the rape seed in full bloom. (I know that's subjective!) pleased the weather is warming up a hit too, but would appreciate a little more sunshine next week....
