Person A buys an item from Person B. Person A given the wrong address- right house & street name, wrong postcode.

Person A gets a taxi over, and is dropped off a 10 minute walk from actual location due to this.

Person A requests a discount on the item due to inconvenience. Person A offers them half the amount of the requested discount instead of the full amount.

Neither Person A or Person B are happy with the outcome Grin

Who is BU?

YABU: person A unreasonable
YANBU: person B unreasonable

Confused who is selling to whom? The way it reads B is seller but also delivering?

Alwaysalwayscold · 03/05/2024 16:34

Is a 10 minute walk really so inconvenient?

greenlampshade · 03/05/2024 16:35

Oops, thought I was making things so clear with my notation, that was an error, have adjusted Grin

Person A will feel a lot more inconvenienced by getting a taxi to the wrong place, the door shut in their face and no item to show for the cost of the taxi ride.

WillJeSuis · 03/05/2024 16:41

I don't think I'd have asked for a discount because I'd had to walk for 10 minutes. I'd have pointed out the postcode was wrong, accepted any apology (hopefully), and paid what I'd agreed to pay

WarshipRocinante · 03/05/2024 16:44

Person B must be quite a big dimwit. They gave the wrong postcode for their own home? Idiot.

I think it’s fair to ask for a discount but asking for half off is maybe a bit much.

pinkred · 03/05/2024 16:44

Hm. Did person a not think it was a bit weird that the address didn't exist? Normally you'll run into issues if you try and put something in that's wrong onto google maps/uber or whatever.

Inconvient though.

Edited

They didn't ask for half off.

PossumintheHouse · 03/05/2024 17:37

Eh? Why would person A offer half of the requested discount? This doesn't make sense. Is this just clumsy writing?

Personally, I'd have been cheesed off if I was A, but I wouldn't have asked for a discount on the item. And if you'd insisted and been all in-my-facey, I wouldn't have sold it.

When you got in the taxi, why didn't A mention the house number and street?
