To ask people to check the labels...

...before posting children's clothes on vinted?

I'm used to European sizes so it's not out of my comfort zone to look at the cm's associated with sizes rather than the age. However it feels I am very much in the minority. Checking every listing for a photo of the label or asking the seller to confirm the size becomes very tedious. Also when you do ask people get really arsey about it even though most of the time it genuinely is in the wrong category. I wish I could afford to not shop secondhand.

The size options on Vinted are not 2-3, 3-4 etc but rather '2 years - 92-96cm' or '3 years - 98-104'. That means their 'age 3' = equivalent age 3-4....not 2-3, and so on for the subsequent sizes.

Maybe vinted need to change their algorithm to suit UK behaviours?! I completely appreciate mostly people are busy and this is just one more thing to think about, but if you're a seller and your stuff isn't shifting maybe just check you've got it in the right size bracket? You could be just totally missing your target audience!

It's not Vinted's sizing options; it's users' lack of care and interest.

I don't buy children's clothes, but even the sections for adults are full of items listed in the wrong category or in the wrong size.

What Vinted should do, though, is to stop proposing a size/category when you upload items, so that sellers would be forced to consciously choose the category. This would cut down on a proportion of the wrong 'uns, but sadly not all.

Unfortunately, even when you report them to Vinted, because the label on the item clearly gives a different size than the user has selected, it's 50:50 whether Vinted will decide it's in violation of their policies or not.

It's also very hard that they are so fixed on M - 10 or L - 12.

Particularly grinds my gears in H&M as I'm very much a M in items that are sized that way - but would never squeeze into one of their 10s!!!

@FusionChefGeoff h&m sizes are well off!! I have to go at least two sizes up. Glad I no longer care about size or see size as effective of self worth, but when I was younger and less secure in myself I basically didn't set foot in there.

I saw a description that said size 12, the label clearly said 16.

I queried it and the seller said "oh I'm a 12 and it fits me"
