Have you voted today and if so who did you vote for?

I think you'll find that not having the right to vote is the very definition of being silenced. There are many countries where people would give their right arm to have the luxury of going to the ballot box.

Secondly, spoiling your ballot paper makes absolutely nothing "very clear". How could anyone know what policies you weren't happy with? You could be angry with a whole range of issues or just one, or you could be mentally ill, drunk or doing it for a laugh. Scribbling over it conveys nothing and gives no indication of what you are dissatisfied with. How on earth is that going to lead to change?

And I am fully entitled to use my right to vote to say I don’t want any of them at this time. I don’t know why that bothers you so much. I’m not trying to be some kind of revolutionary like you seem to think. I’m just wanting to have my say. I fully believe people should vote however they want, even if it’s for no one. The important thing is they do it.

I think if political parties saw that a large amount of one age range is spoiling their ballot it might encourage them to think about what in their policies might be putting them off and might influence them to change things.

For what it’s worth I did vote yesterday and didn’t spoil my ballot because I think they’d be good at the job and I agreed with their ideas. Next time we’ll see.

Is it the general election today? Thought I saw something about it being in July? 🫤

No, of course it isn't! It is a mix of mayoral elections, local council elections, and PCC (Police and Crime Commisioners) There is also one by-election for Blackpool South (which Labour won by a landslide)
