My 5 year old has a small homework that they have to fill in, the title is: For me, being a mum is…

What can I help her to write? It’s confusing whether this is from her point of view or mine?

It’s Mother’s Day where we are this weekend

No idea! Can she just write down some things a mum does for her?

Doingmykidshework · 01/05/2024 18:31

It actually translates as ‘For me to be a mother is…’ so is that from my point of view 🤷🏻‍♀️is the homework for mums to do

It's from her point of view as it is her homework.

So something like " being around to give cuddles when I am sad".

"making hot chocolate for fun"

"looking after my sister and me"

"the hardest/best( insert adjective) job there is"

Gymnopedie · 01/05/2024 18:31

I agree, it's not clear.

I'd go for writing it from her perspective. Being a mum is...
Looking after me
Making my favourite biscuits
Picking me up when I fall over
Taking me to the park
...type things.
But I could be wrong.

Of course it's not. It's her homework. They are asking her what she thinks to be a mother is.

ZipZapZoom · 01/05/2024 18:33

That's super poorly worded.

I'd assume it means what she thinks mum's do and what makes a good mum but yes it's very unclear in how it's been written.

Sconeswithnutella · 01/05/2024 18:33

They want to see what she think makes a mum. “Gives me cuddles when I’m sad, cooks yummy dinners, takes me to gymnastics practice” That’s the sort of answers I’d expect.

Doingmykidshework · 01/05/2024 18:34

It is a bit confusing!

Thanks for the answers, I’ve asked her and hers are similar

When my DD1 was at playgroup/kindergarten, they asked her this for Mother's Day and her answer, written up big for all to see, was: she let's me watch telly

I was not thrilled but many other mums loved her honesty, enthusiasm and the enjoyment of little wins
