2 days a week, 12-13 hours.

HadEnough11 · 29/04/2024 22:06

I like the idea of doing several long days and then having the rest of the week free.
Nice to see some work/life balance in the answers.

I used to work in a nursery and also childminded for years. Now I'm a cleaner. Start at 8am and do a three hour clean then a two hour at the next job.
I also do a bit of after school nannying and also dog sitting.

MonkeyPuddle · 29/04/2024 23:49

I work 3 night shifts a week, 3 on, 2 off, 3 on, 6 off. Feels like I only work every other week.

familyissues12345 · 29/04/2024 23:59

20 hours, 2 x 8 hours days and 1 x 4 hour day - Tues to Thurs.

I worked in nurseries for a long time - never again!

Now work in family support and much happier

I work 3 days a week for 21 hours in an adviser role for the council.

3 nights a week, 30 hours for a care agency

One day a week in a volunteer role.

I have a 9 year old. I love the volunteer role and carer role. The former is mentally stimulating and lots of opportunity for learning. Both are rewarding on a personal level.

I hate the council job but doing it so I can progress to something better paid / suited to my qualification which I haven't used for years due to having a small child.

Current working pattern isn't sustainable long term ....

Noyokymum · 30/04/2024 00:30

I am lucky that I only work 3 ,6hr shifts as a Registered Nurse. Am lucky that I don’t work longer shifts!

Locally there are lots of jobs in care. A friend has started doing 3 10 hour shifts a week so 30 hours and 4 days off. She works every other weekend.

I didn't think I would enjoy care but I needed a break from retail and have fallen into something I love 😊
