Is this enough for DLP first trip?

Going to DLP for the first time with the DC in a few months. I have been before but not since I was a kid so can't remember much. We are staying at the centre parcs for a week and doing Disney for 3 days as we are going for my mom's big birthday so we will spend a few days exploring Paris too. Me and Dh have no idea how much we need to take. We've agreed with DM and her partner that we will all go halves on food for the week, we will just go to a supermarket and stock up when we get there. Obviously flights, accommodation, car hire and tickets are already paid for.
I'm thinking of taking £1000. This is to include the split food cost, food at the parks, a special meal for DMs birthday in Paris and I would like to give the kids £100 spending money each for any special gifts they would like to get at Disney. Is that realistic or do I need to save more? I've literally no idea!

Should have mentioned that the £1000 is for me, Dh and 2 DC (both under 7)

Do you mean cash? Or how much should you budget?

disneytrip1 · 27/04/2024 20:38

@Edenmum2 that's what I'm thinking my spending money for the whole trip would be.

What sort of food do you plan to eat each day - did down 3 course meals for lunch and dinner, counter-service or a mix of both?

disneytrip1 · 27/04/2024 20:39

@OrigamiOwls we are thinking breakfast in our cottage, lunch will be in the parks so pizza, burgers etc and then having dinner at the cottage apart from the night we go out for a celebration meal

I'd start by looking at menus and totting how much you think you'd spend from there. Sit down meals tend to be fairly pricey (although I'd really recommend Walt's, if that's open during your stay, as we had an amazing meal there).

And is the £800 (£1000 minus kids spending money) to cover just DLP or actual Paris as well?

Summerishere123 · 27/04/2024 20:45

That is plenty. We just did Florida for 2 weeks. Everyone had their own money for souvenirs, spent around £150 each. We had breakfast and most dinners at the villa and lunch plus 4/5 meals out. We spent £1.5k.

I have just come back. Food in the parks is very expensive. For a family of 4, we were spending around 40 to 60 Euros on lunch and about 100 to 120 Euros on dinner. This was in the basic quick service places or the disney village. I think we spent around 1k in 3 days there. We did do a character breakfast too.

Summerishere123 · 27/04/2024 20:51

Should have said we didn't do sit down dining at the park.

Well, that's about £100 a day for 4 of you. Sounds reasonable but only because it's only 3 days at Disney. Even a one-course meal for 3 of us plus drink came to about £75 at the Rainforest Café. Burger, fries and drink at Hyperion were 17 euro each.
