Just as the title says really!☺️ I’m curious to see what interests other people have and just generally trying to get inspiration for myself to try new things!

I make Lampwork glass beads. Have a little studio at home. Work full time currently so try and cram in a couple of torching sessions on the weekend.

IamII · 26/04/2024 22:41

Photography - I go out on a shoot maybe once every few weeks, then spend the next few weeks editing one every day.

Playing an instrument - usually twice a week, for a few hours at a time.

I listen to music every minute of the day, and I read for about 30 minutes every night.

The older I get the less interested I am in watching television so had to find other things to fill my time.

justaboutdonenow · 27/04/2024 14:20

Reading
My garden/allotment
My animals
Gaming

I bought an inflatable kayak last winter so will be doing that once the weather improves
This summer I'll also be going car camping with my elderly dog, who loves camping, just me & her as we don't know how long she has left
And then next summer hopefully dog showing with a new pup.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 27/04/2024 14:23

Scout leader - Section night weekly plus some planning, camps and other activities like hikes and kayaking

Trustee for a couple of charities which involves meetings about once a month

Football season ticket holder and go to all home games.

TheQuietWan · 27/04/2024 14:29

Yoga - 3 classes a week
Learning a language - weekly class & practice daily

They’re the only structured hobbies I have.

I’m also a voracious reader, I enjoy walking in nature (I to do this every Sunday) and I love music and go to a lot of concerts and gigs.

Jam making & preserves - whenever the ingredients are freely available

Reading - most nights

RightOnTheEdge · 27/04/2024 16:04

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 27/04/2024 16:07

Knitting, crochet, spinning (on a spinning wheel), learning another language, reading. I read every day, do a bit of knitting or crochet most days and do a bit of Duolingo most days.

Lyricallie · 27/04/2024 16:11

Gym classes 4 nights a week. Hockey twice a week. Volunteering with different charities then just like reading, board games, play station etc.

Chasingsquirrels · 27/04/2024 16:17

Bridge - play at a club once a week and generally at someone's house against another partnership once a week.

Gardening - as and when, depending on free time and the weather.

Reading - most days.

Other things that occupy my time (other than work, maintaining a home etc) are

  • walking the dog.
  • meeting up with a friend for a dog walk or coffee (varies from a couple of times a week to once every two or three weeks).
  • Sunday late afternoon/evening roast with my parents and just adult children followed by cards or games.
  • mindless internet browsing.
ManonDe · 27/04/2024 16:28

Book club every 2 months- but it's more a get drunk and eat pizza club tbh.

I love walking and i go on an extended walk with some friends and their dogs every week- about 2 hours at a time

Love the cinema- but go rarely nowadays

I have a food blog but am turning it into an insta account

Love travelling. I take the Dcs on a long weekend twice a year and we go abroad every summer. Last year on top of my professional role in a regulated industry I started doing a 'side hustle' (bar work Friday nights and Saturdays) for 8 weeks in our town over a particularly busy festival period so we can go on one extra holiday every year- we went to Germany over the easter break.

Chypre · 27/04/2024 17:07

I have a tropical freshwater aquarium, so that’s “daily” - feeding fish, trimming plants, maintaining filters or watching YouTube about aquariums and fish keeping. Always something to try or learn, very giving hobby! Gym (weights) 3 times a week, Pilates 2 times a week - but that’s not a hobby?… I show up, do whatever is in the program/class, go home. Can’t say I am researching or thinking about it in my spare time.

KnitnNatterAuntie · 27/04/2024 19:34

Knitting
Making altered books
Reading
Board games
Word puzzles (wordle, quordle, blossom)
Jigsaw puzzles
Bullet journaling

browneyes77 · 27/04/2024 19:41

Bird/Wildlife photography

It’s an expensive hobby though 😂

Simonjt · 28/04/2024 09:41

Rugby, gym and crochet.

I go to the gym most days, but I do this when the kids are either still in bed or at school so it doesn’t take away time from them. Crochet I can fit in when I’m watching TV etc. Rugby does mean one evening of training, so we’ve made that our sons activity night as well, then the odd saturday for matches during the season.

Startingagainandagain · 28/04/2024 09:49

-Pilates: every week. I have a condition that causes chronic pain and the classes have been so helpful in reducing that
-Swimming: in the spring and summer (I live by the sea)
-gardening/looking after my small vegetables raised beds: every day
-craft/upcycling furniture: I make things for the house and I am about to get a sewing machine to make clothes. I also try to live a more sustainable lifestyle so I recently starting to learn how to make my own vegan products (washing liquid, face & hair mask, hand soap and body wash)
-horse riding when I can afford the lessons!
-reading (library books)
-lots of walking.

A lot of the above happened because I bought a small terrace and have little money left so I have started upcycling things and growing my own vegs and fruits as a result! but I am really enjoying that.

Librarybooker · 28/04/2024 09:53

Walks, drawing, photography

I’m a keen gallery and cathedral visitor

Bit of reading, I like to find good, slightly obscure second hand books in charity shops

twistyizzy · 28/04/2024 09:54

Horse owner so twice a day, every day
Gundog training lessons once a week throughout the year
Beating/picking up once a week during the season

BabySnarkDoDoo · 28/04/2024 09:55

Cross stitch, which I pick up most days. With the miserable weather this year, I've had a few days off where I've sat under a blanket stitching for most of the day. I've recently got back into Lego, although that is an expensive hobby and I need to work out a way of displaying the finished kits.

CharlotteRumpling · 28/04/2024 10:06

Lots including book clubs, theatre, comedy, walking, swimming, but a recent one is joining a choir, which is SO much fun.

Gettingbysomehow · 28/04/2024 10:08

I make dollshouses and all the furniture
Love hiking in the countryside, I live in rural Somerset and going to the beach half an hour's drive away and shopping in Lyme Regis
I've been a wiccan for about 25 years so do a lot of spiritual work sometimes with others but now I'm older mostly solo.
I like writing and I write rituals and coven training as my legacy.
I collect quirky antiques and travel far and wide to find specialist items.
I haven't been well this year, I have reactive arthritis so I haven't been walking a lot. I also work full time in the NHS and do student training so I don't have a huge amount of time to spend on my hobbies unfortunately but hope to do a lot more when I retire in 5 years time.
I's find it hard managing a relationship because I'm always busy but I'm quite happy on my own.
I'm planning on doing an advanced book binding course next year because I want to get involved with book binding and restoration when I'm retired.
Oh yes and gardening, I have a small garden but love making it look amazing.
I go to tarot class twice a month, I don't need any tarot training but I like the company and help out.
I'm a friend of the witchcraft museum in Cornwall which isn't far away so I go to all of their events.
I like going to pagan talks and events in London when I can. Its a very sociable religion.

UnpickThePockets · 28/04/2024 10:16

Gym at least 4 times a week. I love weight lifting and Hyrox style training.

Bird watching. I often go for a stroll in the woods with my Merlin app and binoculars.

Gardening. My garden is tiny but a riot of tulips and wall flowers right now. Full of birds and insects, it gives me huge joy all year round to see it change and for the fruits of my winter work to come to fruition.

WittiestUsernameEver · 28/04/2024 10:30

Modern Board Games, every Tuesday evening

Crochet/tapestry/cross stitch - working on a tapestry cushion atm, maybe 2-3 evenings a week, 1hr a time, whilst watching TV

Reading - every day, often in morning and at bedtime. But also making sure that I am reading my physical book in front of DD4.

Swimming 2-3 times a week. 1 time for "me" lane swimming, 1-2 family swims a week

Baking - making new recipes I find online around 2-3 times a month. We take forever to get through the food for some reason.

Cycling - once a week

Norugratsatall · 28/04/2024 11:21
