Just got out of hospital after taking myself to a&e on Monday (i drove there but then got out the car and couldnt stand up so a paramedic took me in a wheelchair). I'm used to treat and street, why was I admitted and kept in for so long?

This was my discharge plan.... I was able to weight bear after 1 day to hobble to.the toilet and the consultant saw this. He was still worried but he didn't explain a lot to me and I was on oromorph. Not my own best advocate so I didn't really ask much.

Feel a bit in shock.... any ideas?

"47 yo female presentedvwith sudden onset R hip pain 9/10 in intensity and being unable to weigh bear. She is a fit and healthy lady who actively works out. Ct scan showed a hematoma so a CT angio was done which ruled out any active arterial or venous bleeding. She has no signs of collection and this seems to be more of a sprain or rupture of the ilacus muscle which correlated with the history that she presented and with her very active lifestyle "

When did you gave the CT scan? It will have taken time to have that and have it reviewed. They will also have wanted to see that it wasn't getting worse.

I had the CT scan a couple of hours after going in to a&e and the second CT a couple hours after that.
Spend night in majors and then admitted to a ward next morning.

Your ct probably took most of that time to be reported. In our trust, most scans are sent to an external agency online to report

The second CT was ordered after the first, they read them within hours as they were discussing findings when I went up to the ward.
