Every time I log on there’s another pathetic post taking a pot-shot at the Labour party!

Come now boys, your snouts have been in the trough for 14 years now, even you can’t deny you’ve scraped the barrel and run out of prime ministers.

We’ve been bled dry, time to drop off.

At least go with some dignity!

Wasn’t aware that mn had declared its allegiance to the Labour Party. People are all allowed to have their own opinion.

Naran · 06/06/2024 20:52

I was accused of being Tory HQ on another thread

Weird

Bibi12 · 06/06/2024 20:59

I don't like Labour
I don't like the way they are blinded by ideology. It makes people inflexible and dangerous.
I don't like them not being clear on their policies.
I don't like their politics of envy.
I don't like them insisting on being "working class" while flying in private jets. Just own your success and wealth. Let people judge you on your merits not appearances.

I'm hoping they will change some things for the better but I'm not excited about them either.

There is so many things I don't like about Tories but they won't be in power. I think that's the reason you see less posts about them. Everyone wants to look to the future now, not into the past.

I really don't know what else to say OP.
You have to accept living in democracy means people will have different opinions and will be allowed to voice them. 🤷‍♂️

Yanbu at all. It's the fact that the same few posters change their usernames every couple of months but never change their posting style that makes me laugh.

I'm fairly sure that none other than David Davies is one of them given the way he spoke on QT is surprisingly close to one of the tory defence leagues more frequent posters.

Why not ask directly? Link him to the thread via his X profile and ask. If you’re throwing around names.

Oh hello again! 👋 I see you’ve been going back through the political threads and found this one from mid April!

If the politics of fear around National Service isn’t desperate I don’t know what is! 😂 And as for the pure fiction and deception that is their financial figures…

Do you Tories think we all have Stockholm Syndrome or something?! It hasn’t quite come to that yet!

We are all poorer now than we have been for 40 years, and why? Because the Tories and their chums have absolutely PLUNDERED our national assets, sold everything all off to their fat cat friends, left us with lamentable cash-strapped services and dismal quality of living and we have absolutely had enough.

Farewell Tories, you’ve shown us all who you are this past 14 years, shame on you.

TeamPolin · 06/06/2024 22:42

Yep. And on FB too.

Lonelycrab · 06/06/2024 23:05

Four more weeks of everything being spammed and botted to within an inch of its life by a flailing, desperate party. What a time to be alive.

I think I’d rather listen to baby shark on loop for a month than this, but here we are.

Shakespeareandi · 06/06/2024 23:21

No, I haven't seen that. I don't think mumsnet voters are a big concern for the Tories. I'm not voting Labour or Tories though. I really don't think Labour will make things better. Will be nice with a change of faces, but I haven't seen any policies or fresh ideas from Labour that would make me vote for them. There seems to be a lot of Tory bashing on here, and I understand why you wouldn't vote for them. But what exactly is it that is making you vote Labour?

Scruffily · 06/06/2024 23:22

There are certainly an awful lot of new names popping up on Tory supporting threads.

BringMeSunshineAllDayLong · 06/06/2024 23:23

Its so obvious! They are relentless though and must be being paid well by that racist donor bloke.

the2andahalfmillion · 06/06/2024 23:33

all the endless threads about the “politics of envy” VAT on school fees policy cannot be organically generated by your common or garden mumsnet user. It’s just not possible, even given the site’s educated, wealthier than average demographic.

Scruffily · 07/06/2024 22:19

To look at MN over the last couple of weeks, you would think we were obsessed with VAT on school fees and didn't give a fuck about child poverty, the health service, housing, the care system or anything else. It's really bizarre.

Sunquest · 07/06/2024 22:24

I couldn't give a fuck about VAT on school fees. If you choose to send your kids to a private school then you just have to suck it up. My tiny violin has broken strings.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 07/06/2024 22:41

Definitely OP, and in a few areas..

YABU.
We all know that Keir Starmer dines on boiled kittens every night. The bastard.

Love your username @DistinguishedSocialCommentatorsMum !

They definitely are - all these wretched posts about VAT on private schools are getting ridiculous.
Political parties have long been interested in MN as a place to canvass votes.
I dare say there are probably some long term MN users who are also Conservative Party members that are trying to influence people.
Fortunately the Tories are going to loose come what may.

True. But on the positive side, the VAT posts are SO annoying people are turning to Labour in droves.

Edited

I imagine most people on MN don't go anywhere near the GE threads.

Sunquest · 07/06/2024 22:56

In the real world. VAT on private schools doesn't even register. Only in MN land does any one give a fuck.
