To switch my baby's formula?

He is almost 8 weeks old. Originally he was on Cow and Gate but was struggling so much with wind and constipation that I switched to Kendamil which he has been on for about 3 weeks.

However, he is now being sick after every feed. Not just a bit but quite a lot! I'm thinking the Kendamil might be too rich for him.

Should I change to a different formula? I don't want to upset his stomach further but the sickness is really an issue.

I’d take him to the doctor. He risks being dehydrated if he’s being sick so often. Mine were both very sicky but not linked to feeds and not worrying amounts. He’s tiny, get some advice, I’m sure he’s fine but if you’re worried best to get him checked.

The initial wind and constipation may have been just his digestive system adjusting , it’s possibly worth changing back to the cow and gate as he may now be ok with it. I’ve heard of a lot of babies being sicker on Kendamil they use whole milk so it could just be that is what’s causing sickness. The transition period to a new formula takes about 2 weeks so as you’ve tried for 3 weeks and no improvement perhaps try the cow and gate again. Ready to feed is slightly gentler as has been heat treated so that might be good for the first few bottles.

If no improvement after 2 weeks or worsening symptoms before then it may be worth seeing the gp

I'd speak to your Health visitor or a Dr just to check that everything is OK with little one.

Oh bless him! Mine really struggled with the organic Kendamill but was absolutely fine with the non-organic so you could see if that makes a difference?

I would deffo talk to HV or GP just to be on the safe side.

I found a really interesting video with my first who was a sicky baby - about the difference between sick and posset. I'll link it if I can find it x
