I now work for NHS. Most people are lovely. About 6 years ago though I did my 1st day work experience for NHS to decide if I should train.
I asked a ( make%, intimidating)staff member where the ladies was and he told me. I took a wrong turn and he viciously and loudly bellowed " listen would you."
To a guest!
Whist a student also met a few like rhis.why?
No idea why it still irks me but I think it has stuck as it was my 1st experience in hospital. My current one is largely lovely

The irony of snarky replies on this thread 🤷‍♀️.

Can’t people just use their manners a little more? Please?

Sorry, someone who equates getting lost looking for the loo with killing patients in the NHS deserves the snarky replies...

Properly bonkers that one. I'm still laughing at that.

You didn't listen properly so you got it wrong.

In a medical place getting it wrong could cost other people their lives.

So if someone was doing surgery and followed a direction wrong, you think the best thing to do in that situation would be to start yelling at them?

Pmsl at getting lost on the way to the loo being life threatening!

But you haven't said why you're still thinking about a non-event SIX YEARS later.

Hi op. I work in the private sector and often dream of a job in the nhs, but your post highlights there are a*eholes everywhere. Personally I have to deal with people who clearly have mental health issues, who think the world is out to get them, who have threatened me and made up false allegations. Where I work there’s no regulation to stop people doing things like that so you feel like a punch bag that just has to take it, otherwise you’re unprofessional. I just have never had the urge to treat someone like that especially with no good reason. Let’s have a toast to the a*holes and bullies and hope they can find some happiness in their miserable lives!

'Listen, would you' wouldn't even register with me. It's a none event. If that's the worst anybody has said to you at work in 6 years you have not been bullied.
