Period delaying tablets

I want to delay my period for a holiday. I've never done it before and I'm not on the pill but I understand there are tablets you can get as a one off thing to delay it. Has anyone used them and do they work? Where about in your cycle do you need to take them? And did they mess your cycle up afterwards?

I would try it before going on holiday. I took them on holiday once and the side effects were a lot worse then just having my period. I had insomnia and severe headaches which totally ruined the trip. After 4 days of putting up with it, I stopped them and my next period was horrendous.

I was given provera and had similar. Awful insomnia which made me knackered and it made me sleepwalk. Ended up walking round the floor of my hotel in just a t-shirt and pants! Had to barricade the door at night for the rest of the holiday. I really regretted taking it, a period would have been less stressful.

Oh that doesn't sound great. Ughhh I don't no what to do maybe I should just try enjoy the holiday without taking anything im just always so self conscious of leaks and things. Playing in the pool with my kids and stuff I don't want it to be ruined 😫. Thank you for letting me know

I took norethisterone on holiday and never had side effects. Could you trial it in advance and see if you react or not

I get them from Asda online. I have never had any side effect apart from being bloated but I’m always bloated before my period.

I'm a constant bleeder due to implant would I be ok to take them? I'm going away for 10 days and my bleeding is driving me insane it's been constant for months since having it fitted I really want it to stop for ny holidays gp prescribed me the mini pill for 2 weeks they didn't work at all. Any advice please it's Saturday so I don't no how the online GPS work will I get them in time for Wednesday? Thanks in advance

Yes my only problem is I go next week and need them approving and delivered before I go to try them for a couple of days ive left it quite late really lol my fault
