Ask have you seen a chiropractor or osteopath for headaches? Did it help?

I've seen a chiropractor for a different problem and it helped. I'm currently getting random headaches. Had a brain scan as GP was concerned. Normal thank goodness.

I've seen a really good osteopath before for a shoulder problem but have heard that they can help with headaches? These pains are random.

Any advice welcome. TIA

Not for headache but chiropractor successfully treated my jaw pain

A chiro sorted out my headaches beautifully.

I see a sports massage therapist every six weeks for headaches. He works on my neck and shoulders. Before I started seeing him I’d get migraines and have a general low level headache most of the time. It’s the best money I spend.

Thanks everyone

I have seen lots of people for my headaches. The thing that helps most (aside from my regular injections) is a foam roller, it has to be a softer one. Look up foam roller headache on youtube, this video was particularly helpful for me. If its at all related to your muscles this will help.

@anothermnuser123 thanks I'll look at that.

A local osteopath to me runs headache clinics. It’s well regarded locally.

BIWI · 16/04/2024 13:09

Yes I did - for me, it was down to being very tight around the shoulders and my upper back. Partly from too much sitting at a desk/computer, and partly because of stress - my shoulders were always tight/raised. Wearing a handbag over my left shoulder also didn't help, and that was when I shifted to a cross-body one.

Osteopath appointment was like a miracle!

Physiotherapist cured my headaches. Tight muscles in neck and shoulders.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 16/04/2024 14:45

Yes, I did. After two years of physio, on the NHS, where they told me the pain in my neck, arms and headaches were in my mind, I then had two sessions with an Osteopath who cured the issue. It was muscles that had basically ceased to function on one side of my neck and the physios had been treating the area with pain and not the area that caused the issue! I know who I put my faith in.

@YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME that's shocking. Thank goodness you went to the osteopath 😮

@YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME that's shocking. Thank goodness you went to the osteopath 😮

The Consultant Physio (who must have won his qualification in a raffle), actually told me that I need to re-programme my mind - his words - as I had obviously convinced myself that I was in pain and they could find nothing wrong with me. Really could not recommend physiotherapy in the NHS and even a knee injury resulted in them giving me a tatty photocopied exercise sheet, barely readable, for knee pain and it took a great deal of nagging to get it checked properly and it turned out I had ripped a cruciate ligament!

alrightluv · 16/04/2024 18:50

@YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME you should have emailed and told them the outcome. There's probably hundreds like you who haven't been helped by them.

@YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME or reported them to PALS.
