...to think that you should look to see if you're able to park in a bay before doing it?

My DH has been sent a penalty notice for parking on a red route. This is the 4th penalty notice he's been served - the first was on the day we took dd1 home from hopsital. He's had one for speeding and another for parking on a pavement.

We're working to a strict budget at the moment and I'm annoyed that the whole family has to go without to pay for his fine. He said he could work overtime, but that still deprives his children of time spent with him.

We're thinking of selling one of our cars to reduce our outgoings even further. I have suggested that he finds something of his to sell on ebay to pay for the fine. (He's just traded in his X-box and games for a Playstation 3, so he has his priorities right )

Grrr. Men, eh?

just make sure that he is aware of the hanges that come in force today where they no longer have to stick a ticket on the car it can be sent through post - also if you are caught on CCTV they can fine you - first thing you know is when it comes through the post.

It will be on the news today - no doubt will catch alot of pople out .

It is so easy to get caught, people think they can get away with it. but it isn't always so My other half got caught speeding twice in his first 2 years. So not only to fines he had to re sit his theory and practical test, reapply for his licence and have 5 lessons. Total cost £420. Just after christmas it has taken us 3 months to catch up. But he has learnt his lesson and drive much slower now.

Hope your DP sells his playstation and slows down now?

i would be absolutly fuming with him.

once though, my dad had to pull quickly into an empty bus lane in london (big no no). my dbro had just had a tube put down his throat in hospital (he has a condition where his throat is slowly closing, two ops havent fixed the problem), and he started gagging and throwing up the tube. a policewoman came up and started to tell my dad off, then saw my poor dbro being sick, made sure he was ok (he bought the whole tube up) and sent them on their way.
