Is it quick and simple? Or do you have to collate a load of info? Can you save and come back to it later? Thanks

If you live as a couple with another person they will also have to set up an account and you will get a code to link the two accounts which is an extra step you need to do when switching to UC. If you are having trouble navigating it you can call the CAB Help to Claim service, the number is on your migration letter

Re the tax credit protection, we haven’t received it

i have placed a complaint and raised the issue several times, just to be told that its with the it department and they will let me know

been two months

next month the account will close as we haven’t had a payment for three months

big waste of time, and we do miss the £20 a week we got from tc

It is six months with no payment the claim will close.

Quick warning: wait for your next Tax Credits payment to go in if it’s before your UC deadline - submitting the online application will stop TC straight away. I am £800 down because I did not know this 😡

That is well known advice on many groups and on here. You can't blame someone else.

If you are self employed how do you decide when is pay day?

If you are self employed how do you decide when is pay day?

You report your Income and expenses for 1 month, rather than being "paid on a specific day"

If you made a claim to UC today, your assessment period would run from 13/04/2024 to 12/05/2024. Anything income and expenses received/paid out during this period would need to be declared.

I’ve done it but it’s talking about me job searching when I’ve already stated I’m self employed. Not sure I’ve done it correctly 😬. Also it asked me about bank accounts but not my earnings. Guess I’ll find out in a few weeks.

PP isn't blaming anyone else.

I now have an appointment to prove I’m gainfully self employed. How are we supposed to attend appointments at short notice when we are working?? So frustrating. Why can’t they ask for income details online like they did for tax credits?
