Neighbour dumping rubbish on our property

Hi, we have a neighbour whose dumping their s**t on our property. We live in a row of terraced houses, we're the end house and we have a passage way that runs along the side of our house that allows 5 other residents access to and from their gardens with their wheely bins wnd because they need access our garden has been brought forward and is fenced so we have privacy in our garden. The bit behind our fence is still part of our property and recently a neighbour has dumped their rubbish on this part of our property. We rent so unsure if this is something we would report to the council or our landlord, the passage way is gated and locked so the only people with access is us and 5 other houses.
We certainly won't be taking it to the local tip ourselves as I dread to think what's amongst it but not really sure if there's any other option?

Also aibu to stick a camera on the back window, catch whose doing it and then throw it back in their garden? Or maybe I'll just stick a sign up telling them to take their shit to the tip before they're reported or I dump it back in their garden!

I'm so pretty disgusted that people would be this cheeky and this is acceptable! only 6 houses have access to the back of the houses so it's not like they'll never be found out! 🤦‍♀️

If they are leaving faeces then this is a matter for Public Health, surely?

@TiredMum30 a drawing might be helpful to understand what is yours and what is mutually shared by all. also show your fence too.

Report to the Council and PHE.

It doesn't make a lot of sense why the garden has had to be brought forward.

The only way I can imagine it is that either the path itself is your land, so the fence had to be moved to allow access, and they're dumping stuff on the path, blocking everyone?

Or the path isn't your land, but for some reason the garden fence was moved back anyway. In which case put it back so that the whole land is fenced in and it's just the path that's left.

Regardless, your landlord is probably your first port of call.

I'd ask the neighbours who left it there to be honest

Sorry, its not actual faeces (I don't think, we only had a look in the bags quickly so could be anything in there) but more like broken stuff, such as an old hot tub, bike frame, 2 broken tvs and other broken things and a few bin bags.

I'll try post a pic, I've drawn a quick diagram but it won't post for some reason. I'll try again

We've still yet to speak to 2 of them but there's no answer when we've knocked, others have said it's not them. One did say which one it may be as they've been renovating and there's quite alot of paint tubs been dumped also. I have a feeling it's may be a couple of the neighbours and they seem to think they can just dump stuff there because the other has done it when they can't be bothered to dispose of it properly.

I'd have a word with your LL as they may know each of the other householders and go from there, even to let him know it's not you doing the dumping so that he doesn't bill you for it's removal if you stop renting the property for any reason in future.

Putting a camara up is a good idea, don't forget a CCTV sign and go careful to only cover as much ground as is permitted, but if you found the culprit I'm not sure you can legally just dump it back in their garden as they may deny it was theirs and you could possibly get done for fly tipping.

The inner me would want to put it back in the alley way, not in the path of householders if possible, with a note saying something like, have you lost this scrap, I've found it and left it here for you to collect feel free to take it back and dispose of it correctly.
