My baby fell while sitting unsupported
I was just getting his toy behind me and he suddenly fell to the back , hitting the back of his head just from the distance where he was sitting to the floor not too high

And there was a rug which is included in the photo

He started crying with tears i held him he stopped crying after two minutes

There are no evident wounds, slightly red where he fell but nothing else

I know is should have not left my hand from behind his back since he still didn't master sitting alone

I also put cold fomets of the place for 5 mins (no too cold)

He is 6 months

The brown rug is what his head hit
Its about 2 cm in Ticknes

Ah he'll be fine, in fact he already is fine if he's stopped crying. Carpet totally enough to have prevented any damage. If you leave him sitting up just put a few cushions round him, he's gonna keep doing this!
Breathe my lovely it's all fine!

Remo22 · 06/04/2024 15:44

@heldinadream thank you for making me feel OK about it it's because I'm my first time mom
this is the first time he cried dt falling
that's why I'm being too scared
Taking a deep breath

If it makes you feel better my first born did the same only hit her head on a marble fire surround - then did it again a week later - she's 22 and fine!

It happens OP - we can't (sadly) wrap them head to toe in bubble wrap - just keep an eye out for any unusual drowsiness or being sick but I'm sure he's fine!

I have twins and at that age they often used to manage to push each other over! It's how kids learn to balance and they crying is usually frustration or shock!

@TimeGrabsYouByTheWrist
You have a point
I believe babies are stronger than we think they are

Still i felt guilty that he fell and cried

Wishing you all the best

Aww don't worry yourself, they're sproingy at that age, the crying was more likely from the shock of tipping over than anything. Baby will be fine, breathe!

It's a truth universal that in an infinite flat plane, a toddler will manage to find the one stone and spend the entire day banging their head off it. You've got lots more bumps to look forward to once he's up and tearing about!

Remo22 · 06/04/2024 16:52

@ghostyslovesheets bless her
I know it must have been difficult back then when she did so

I am trying to make sure he's acting normal
Hope from God nothing bad happens

I know this age is just the beginning of more and more minor falls and trips specially when they start to learn walking

I was hysterical - 3 kids now (well adults and a teen) and we've had multiple broken bones, dislocated toes, two deep wounds that needed surgery, dysentery (seriously!), encephalitis, colds, Covid, panic attacks, mental health issues, '3am and I'm stuck can you get me' etc that I am way too chill these days!
