Katie Price claims she is responsible for Peter Andre's career, branding him a "nobody".

In a scathing interview, she said that Pete had "nothing" before he met her in the jungle.

Speaking on Anything Goes with James English, Katie said: "when we did jobs together I'd always get more money, make sure we had separate contracts.
"I think he found that a bit hard as well. I was like well hang on you've just turned up in the jungle, I've already got a career going on.
"You had a song like, how many years ago? you need to earn it. this is the truth, I don't care what anyone says I made Pete again. I made him," she said.

She's right, but it was twenty years ago so she needs to get over it.

She's right & all the men who have been subsequent partners have used her for fame. They all cheat on her too & then she gets the bad press. Peter Andre was horrible to her on screen. Spiteful & condescending.

I must have watched a different programme then. I always felt sorry for Peter. She was always belittling him and talked to him like crap.

Same, he wasn't exactly nice back at times but she was constantly putting him down . I remember her being not very nice to junior a few times as well

I must say I never knew any female Katie Price fans before she met Peter Andre. It was their relationship that made Katie seem more human and relatable. Before that she seemed like a very unlikeable person, falling out of clubs and denigrating her partners. Katie may have had a higher profile but definitely wasn't earning anything like she did when she was with Peter Andre. Being a family woman with a husband is what brought in the cash. I loved the reality show Katie & Peter. However Katie Price's solo shows were absolutely unwatchable, just endless beauty appointments and "yes" people indulging her. Whereas Peter Andre's solo show was great! I think Peter is a decent human being, he protects his children and loves his wife. Katie Price has absolutely wasted her money and flits from one disaster to the next. What's the point in boasting about all the money she's earned but she's in debt to the tune of millions of pounds to her creditors? I do think Katie talks a lot of arrant nonsense and makes very little sense.

There’s a difference between creating an opportunity for a career and giving someone their career.

A career is over time and if Peter Andre hadn’t turned up on time, been attractive to brands - he wouldn’t still be getting hired 20 years after the opportunity to be more in the public eye.

PS - back when they had their show - I am certain it was beneficial for both of them. This ‘I gave him his career’ sounds bitter, grabby and conveniently half a story.

Of course she is right. He was a washed up pop star when they met. Whatever you think about either of them as people, he built his rebooted fame off the back of her.

Do you remember women in particular liking Katie before she got together with Peter? She started making a lot of cash when she had her family brand of her husband and beautiful children. She may have made money before that but nowhere in the same league. It's ironically Peter's manager Claire who took Katie's career to a new level. Being in lads mags alone would not have created the appeal she had when she was with Peter. Katie is very limited in the way she thinks (from what she says) so would probably never recognise this.

I think partly she is right ....but I'm a celeb itself definitely raises people's profile and gives them more career ops. Mylene Klass was a has been popular as well when she went on and then was everywhere..
And I think being part of a celeb couple gave KP a lot more opportunities than as a single glamour model

I think they're both awful to be honest. KP's life is like watching a slow motion car crash. As for him, I think he's unpleasant. I remember years ago watching some documentary thing with him on. He was playing the guitar and singing about how awful KP is, what a joke she is etc. But he was doing it in front of their young kids. Those poor kids. I can't believe they seem relatively normal.

I do think that people see Peter Andre as some kind of saint when he's not actually a very nice person. Wasn't he sticking up for Philip Schofield recently?

Katie Price is very black and white - I agree with that. I personally think she may be autistic. I'm autistic myself and I've thought so for years.
