To be pissed off with hairdresser

Went to do my hair extensions, hairdresser lady asked if she can take photos but didn't say anything about posting them on FB to her 8K followers

Well she did , face included, 14 photos and some of photos I didn't even know she took as i can see she just started applying the hair and at that point i wasn't asked whether she can take photos .

Now myself and my DD are escaping DV and if my ex abuser partner came across he'd see our new location.

I asked her to blurr my face out she said okay at 2pm and it's still up . I asked again and explained why and for some reason she send a smiley 😃 emoji as if DV is funny said she will remove photos now and she didn't realise .

But photos are still up .
when you delete post on FB does it take time for it ti disappear?

I'm so angry reading this OP

Fck sake

Been in your shoes and had to be so careful like you xxxxxx

Notadoormat4 · 02/04/2024 22:04

I would make a separate fb or ask a friend to keep checking to see if she's removed it in case she blocks you.

I'd start putting 1* reviews now, she will soon get the message.

May be really blunt

"YOU are currently causing a dangerous situation. You do not have permission to post my photos. They are still online. Remove them immediately. This is for the safety of myself and my daughter"

jollyblink · 02/04/2024 22:06

Is FB the only social media she's on? (make sure she hasn't posted it on Instagram, etc. too).

I hope it gets taken down soon!

MangoGirls · 02/04/2024 22:06

@thisisasurvivor im so sorry 💐
But we are in better place now and need to keep it this way Xx

She hasn't got a clue the danger her mistake could cause. I suppose when it's not your life why care too much, right?!
I actually would post a comment 'I've asked multiple times privately for you to take down these photos, I'm now asking publicly. Please remove them now'

MangoGirls · 02/04/2024 21:53

@shoppingshamed yes she is very good at what she does and been doing it for 3 years .

i can message on social but what's the point when i have her mobile number.

I missed where you'd said that, I thought youd been messaging her on fb and maybe she hadn't seen them all

shoppingshamed · 02/04/2024 22:14

MangoGirls · 02/04/2024 21:58

and it's still not done !

That doesn't look to me that she's laughing at your situation, more that shes smiling because she's done what you asked or thinks she has anyway

FrancisSeaton · 02/04/2024 22:17

I
Would go round there and wait whilst she deleted it

DelilahsHaven · 02/04/2024 22:19

That is very poor of her, no-one should be posting photos on socials without permission.

It might be worth deleting your cache and checking again if the photos still appear, or asking someone you trust to look - sometimes your browser just shows you the same version of something that you have previously looked at rather than the current view, so they might have disappeared for anyone looking since she said she deleted, but still coming up on your browser. I could be wrong, but if I'm right, hopefully they haven't been live for hours and being viewed more widely.

ChimneySweepLiverpool · 02/04/2024 22:24

I'm so annoyed for you reading this. What a horrible lady, don't give her your business again and maybe leave a bad review for others to read?

NorfolkEnchantsIsThere · 02/04/2024 22:25

Not acceptable at all and I wouldn't use her again after this! If she's not answering your calls I'd spam under the photos with a generic message and repeat until she removes them. She'll keep getting notifications every time you post a comment.

DelilahsHaven · 02/04/2024 22:27

I understand why people are suggesting commenting on the photos, but I wouldn't, it will add to their reach and do the opposite of what you're trying to achieve ie low profile.

MangoGirls · 02/04/2024 22:28

@shoppingshamed it's still inappropriate to send laughing face imo
Obviously I might be over sensitive as i was victim of DV , but everyone on this thread tells me posts get deleted immediately. And she said "done " which is a lie and included smile emoji ffs 🤦🏼‍♀️

i was thinking just to block her everywhere and leave it .
think it's smarter x

OliviaFlaversham · 02/04/2024 22:34

Blocking her won’t remove your photos though so you’d be no better off.

On the emoji I think you may be being over sensitive, yes, the photos get deleted immediately but maybe she did it wrong ior meant to do it and got distracted

What would be the reason for a blatant out and out lie, that doesn't make sense to me
She has no idea of your circumstances, she's not out to get you, most likely she's just crap at deleting photos or doesnt realise how seriously you need it be done straight away

DelilahsHaven · 02/04/2024 22:41

I've just had a Google, and that confirmed what I said above, that the photos could be still stored in your app cache, so it may have gone off Facebook itself but still appears when you look at the app on your device.

Facebook says that photos are deleted instantly and that they don't store them on their own servers.

MangoGirls · 02/04/2024 22:52

@shoppingshamed okay thanks , i'm just overreacting because a professional hairdresser who has 8K followers is not able to delete my photos as she is crap at deleting . (?)

And as a woman she doesn't understand that smile emoji 😃 is offensive to DV survivors after they explained why post and 14 photos i gave no consent to publish need to be taken down

Or maybe she is just trying to promote her business? with beautiful pics before and after and doesn't take DV seriously.

Anywho . Going to bed , thanks for support everyone and i will call @9am to see what's up .

❤️

Press F5 a few times and that might refresh to show pics removed. On another note what did you think she was going to do with the pics?

MangoGirls · 02/04/2024 22:54

@Whatevershallidowithmylife not post on social media. Maybe for training. Not a mind reader.
