28 and full on wetting myself daily - help!

NC for this because very embarrassing!

I’m 28, and ever since having my son in 2020 my health has gone so, so downhill I feel like my body is completely breaking down.

Have always been a healthy 10-12, 12 at a max. Always worked from home and never been one to go to the gym. 4 years on from my son I am now a size 28 diagnosed with PCOS, pre-diabetic. I’ve lost every ounce of confidence I had and am now looking at weight loss surgery (private, not NHS).

Anyway, for the last week I have been wetting myself daily. Not just a little bit but full on, heavy urination.

I’ll get a slight need to go, and all of a sudden it will become urgent and even crossing my legs won’t stop it while I try to waddle to the bathroom.

Today, it happened just as I was walking back into my house, in broad daylight, in my drive. Dripping through my leggings into my shoes. I don’t think anyone saw but it’s absolutely mortifying and I’m losing my dignity.

I’ve called the GP today but can’t get an appointment until Thursday, so for now I’m just sat here worrying and feeling upset and disgusted.

I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone before and/or had any advice. Can’t believe this is my body at 28.

I suffer from urinary incontinence with thrush. More common than you'd think and worth investigating.

Losing weight will definitely help.

I've had WLS and I used to pee myself alot. I don't do it anymore.

I got into iced coffee last summer and started making my own.
One day I decided to splurge and had two, but they were pretty big.
That night I wet the bed.
The only thing I did different that day was the extra iced coffee.
It had to be caffeine.
Like the other pp are saying, get yourself some undergarments.
And Amazon has x-large dog pee pads 60 to a case for a very (like £35) reasonable price. You can lie on one in your bed and be very safe.
I know this for an absolute fact, because both my dog and I use them.
Best of luck at the GP.🤞

Do make an appointment to see your GP. I was very overweight and had a problem with urinary urgency and incontinence, unable to stop myself peeing before I got to the toilet in time, at the front door, or just as I reached the toilet door. I presumed it was my weight, eventually I lost 6st in weight but still had the peeing issue, then presumed it was pelvic floor issues.

Eventually after struggling for several years I went to the doctor who (after checking my pelvic floor - which was fine) diagnosed an ‘over-active’ bladder, prescribed tolterodine, 1 small tablet a day - problem just about solved within 3 days - after struggling and being embarrassed for many years.

You have an appointment - it's only a week away, it sounds as if you've been unwell/not in great health for a while, so waiting a week to start investigating the cause of the problem isn't the end of the world - at least you've made the call and got an appointment sorted.
Hope it goes well.
