My son is 7 nearly eight, generally a lovely person although has his moments. He has always been on the more active side but as far as I'm aware is neurologically typical. More recently he has started to feel the need to vocalise loudly sort of making random stupid noises, blowing raspberries, fake laughing really loudly, lip smacking when eating, motor talking sort of any none stop drivel that enters his head, repeatedly asking me maths questions that he clearly know the answer to and just generally jabbering on with himself. I'm finding it so hard to tolerate and I've started refusing to understand him when he does he baby voice and have directly asked him repeatedly to stop the others noises but I feel like screaming " shut up with the stupid fucking noises". But obviously don't. Anyone any ideas before I book myself a camping holiday with no one else around?

God, I remember my cousin doing similar at that age & driving my auntie absolutely batty with it. He grew out of it… Eventually!

Ah yes I have one of those, although mine is neurospicy. Just on and on and on about the most random things, shouting quotes from films, screeching randomly.. He's getting better with age, just as his younger brother is entering the phase 😵‍💫 no tips unfortunately. I just start to tune it out.

Dear Lord send help! It is so awful, I just hope he grows out of it soon, I genuinely love him so much but I find the constant repetitive rhetoric so wearing. It makes me not want to be in the same space and I just long for bed time!

My 6yo never ever stops making noises / singing / talking / asking stupid questions that she knows the answer to. She makes random baby crying noises that CUT me to the core. We're waiting for an autism assessment and given how much the noise enrages me I suspect she might have inherited it from me 😳

My ds is exactly the same! I'm a very patient person but he does try my patience a bit!
