DH and I have had a (minor) difference of opinion about tipping at Easter.
we are fortunate to have a housekeeper a couple of times a week and a team of three gardeners who come once a week to stay on top of the outside.
at Christmas I would usually tip a weeks pay + rounded up to nearest ten to everyone. Plus the usual cash in cards for bin men / post men etc. Our children will make cards for the housekeeper + gardeners because they know them well + engage with them often.
at Easter I never know quite what to do. This year I gave half a weeks pay + a little Lindt bunny to housekeeper + garden team. Nothing to bin / postmen.
DH thinks this was a bit patronising + I should have done whole week without ‘children’s chocolate’ or nothing at all.
Those of you that either give or receive ‘festive’ tips - do you think I was being silly?
YABU - you overthought this and should have just done same as Christmas
YANBU - seems like a nice extra Easter gift + is appropriate to be smaller than Christmas
