Botox in underarms?

I suffer from extremely pungent armpit B-O in a way that sometimes the smell remains after washing clothes. (I may need to put shirts on a hot-wash).

I heard that botox can prevent armpit sweating, is this true? It's disgusting and I don't want to smell bad anymore.

It is true although I would do your research before going ahead. It’s only meant to be a temporary solution and for some even if it does work they get far less than the months it’s meant to last. the other issue is the body needs to sweat to regulate temperature so people find if it does work there they end up with things like a sweaty back or head or top lip etc because the body finds a different area to regulate from (I suppose less smell though)

iv not got the smell issue really (although my advice below may be why?) but have a circulation disorder so sweating can be an issue for me especially now I’ve been diagnosed with early menopause I’ve had this Botox twice before over the years can say that it didn’t really work all that well for me. It certainly didn’t completely dry out the area. And what effect it did have only lasted a couple of weeks which makes me think I was probably just being hopeful that it had in fact had an effect!

in terms of smell if not choosing botox my advice would definitely be wash properly with soap and regularly over and above normal showers. For example if I shower in the morning I’ll still have a quick wash and put more deodorant (not spray, roll on) on when I get home before putting on other clothes on. Or if not at work I’ll wait until just before I’m leaving the house to have a quick wash before put my top on.

I have what I call indoors and outdoor tops lol. So I get up get washed and dressed but if I’m at home until later il wear one of my indoor T-shirts then just before I go out I’ll have a quick wash and change into whatever I plan on wearing out that way it’s not being sweated on all day before I’m then out in public.

the other big one is get rid of all the synthetic fabrics! Sweaty people just stink in them, there is just no way for the skin to breathe and the bacteria love a warm damp place which is what cases the stink. I pretty much try to wear only natural fibres like cotton if I can which is hard to find cheaply nowadays but occasionally you are lucky and if you have to wear synthetic’s (like some people have no choice because they have synthetic fibre uniforms) get some of those underarm sweatgaurd things to see if they help, they might not but adding a layer between the skin and fabric might help plus they are easy to replace half way through the day and can be washed regularly.

sorry maybe not helpful so please do ignore me if you want 😳😄

Also try soaking under the arms before washing I use zoflora cold water mix but and antibacterial stuff works as that can sometimes loosen things and not set in the smell.

not saying it will work but I’ve had some luck with pyjama tops when it became an issue after nightsweats with the dreaded early menopause

Have you tried using all the natural deodorants Nuud, Wilde etc. after a month of using these three times a day the smell is gone and the sweating is less.

Botox works but you end up sweating elsewhere.

I had Botox under my arms for sweating. I did a post on MN about it.

It definitely worked for me, absolutely life changer. Lasts about 5months. Didn’t increase sweating elsewhere.
Bit painful but not after effects at all.

Are you sure it's not the bacteria lingering on your clothes? Try spraying the underarms with vinegar before washing. Or there's anti-bacterial liquid you can add to your laundry wash. Dettol do one but some supermarkets have their own-brand. Or look for something that says 'sports wash'.

Wash your underarms with soap not shower gel. And if you use a stick or roll-on deodorant, trying wiping the surface of it with a tissue. Sometimes sweat bacteria gets on it and you're just transferring it back to yourself.

I've had this, it's life changing. Lasted much longer than the promised few months. Like switching off a light.
