Neighbours cleaner AIBU

Hi just want some different opinions.

Neighbour across the road has had a cleaner now for approximately 8 months. She comes every Monday at 10am when their house is empty and stays for exactly 2 hours. On a Thursdays she again comes for 2 hours and is always very prompt and stays the 2 hours.

I'm looking for a cleaner and this one seems very reliable and trustworthy from my observations. Do you think my neighbour would be annoyed if I approached her and offered her an additional 2 hours every Monday and Thursday when she's finished the neighbours? I don't really get on with neighbour, fwiw.

Why would you need to ask the neighbours, do they own the cleaner?
Surely you ask only the cleaner.
Bizarre question.

Why would you want another woman to clean your house? She will never be able to do it the right way or the way you want her to and you won't know where things have been put. I don't understand people who hire cleaners or nannies, literally what is the point? Would you also employ another woman to fellate your husband? I dunno, man.

😂😂😂

Well that escalated quickly

Blooming love having a cleaner. I love coming home the day she's been. She's a professional she does it better than me & she cleans, she doesn't rearrange things so everything is where it should be.

Saves me spending some of my precious days off work doing housework. And ofcourse more time to fellate my husband

KreedKafer · 27/03/2024 10:22

What on earth has it got to do with your neighbour?!

So weird. Are you thinking that cleaning is a woman's job at home or something?! The "point" is that not everyone is precious about having a 'right way' to clean the house, and will happily outsource it to free up time to do more enjoyable things.

I hate cleaning, always have. I will happily pay anyone to do anything I dislike doing, life is too short. Thankfully I have no problem fellating the husband.

I could get some gossip on the neighbour too 🙈🙊

And at that point you went from reasonable to very creepy. Even if you were being lighthearted, you’re being weird.

Chances are she won’t have space - reliable cleaners tend to have waiting lists - but she’s running a business so it’s fine to approach her and ask.

@RegretMisery

Because cleaning a toilet and mopping a floor brings me no joy

I don't grow my own vegetables or slaughter my own meat either.

Shame on me.

OldTinHat · 27/03/2024 10:30

That is exactly how I found my cleaner! She goes to my neighbour first, then me.

Why can't you clean your own house?

If she can afford a cleaner why the hell should she?

YOU may enjoy cleaning your home. I hate it and am considering getting a cleaner even though I'm retired and in good health.

BMW6 · 27/03/2024 10:37

You have a very peculiar mind to equate housework with sexual relationships. Man.

BobbyBiscuits · 27/03/2024 10:39

You don't know if she's a good cleaner or not. They might be paying her for 4 hours a time and she's bunking off early? Lol
No, just subtly approach her and ask. No need to involve the neighbour. If you don't get on they will almost certainly try and make a scene.
If she has space I'm sure she'd find it convenient.
I wouldn't try to extract any gossip. If the cleaner's like that then you'll know she's spreading your business straight back to them. They need to be very discreet I'd have thought. That would be a deal breaker for me.

Oh right - maybe that's why I don't have a husband now - obviously I neither cleaned the house nor fellated him adequately. Ah well, it's a fair exchange I guess. No cleaning or fellating for me. I can live with that.

I was not trying to compare the two, just making a lighthearted joke, hope this didn't offend anyone.

Why would I want to spend any time cleaning if I can pay someone else to do it? I'm not really interested in the detail of how she does it, she can have a free hand.

What jobs can a woman do that you would find acceptable if it meant she came into contact with your husband?

To be fair, other than nannies or cleaners or care workers, I can't actually think of many jobs that involve entering houses that are done by women.

I have never encountered a female plumber, electrician, window fitter, builder etc.

I'm much better at fellating my husband than I am cleaning my house. You have to play to your strengths.

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/03/2024 04:54

I'm awesome at blowjobs.

I am very much not awesome at cleaning the skirting boards or hoovering.

And if someone does the skirting boards and hoovering I've got a lot more time on my hands...

If a cleaner doesn't clean the right way or put things where I can find them I'd ask them to do it the right way (or accept their way is better!) and ask them not to put things where I can't find them... or hire another cleaner.

All moot points as I cannot afford a cleaner but if I could, I absolutely bloody would.

It’s nothing to do with your neighbour but the work could mean a heap of difference to the cleaner I say go for it

Mh67 · 01/04/2024 08:15

Ask her and see what she says. But be aware just because she says for the whole two hours doesn't mean she is great or works that length of time.
my mother was a cleaner for years and the previous one stayed the whole time but the house owner caught her sitting in the living room drinking tea and eating when she returned home unexpectedly. A proper company with staff who have references is a better idea
