To ask what you think this rash may be?

Ignore the big scribble, hiding tattoo so as not to out myself.

I will be booking a gp appointment but just thought I’d ask on here if anyone recognises what this may be as I’ve been getting it on and off for a couple of years now but it always disappears when I’ve seen the doctor before so I haven’t gotten very far with them. Any pointers will be appreciated!

It only seems to affect my upper back, chest and neck area, isn’t itchy but does seem to coincide with when I’m not quite feeling 100% either mild cold symptoms or fatigue (which I seem to get very regular). I do think it’s possible I have something underlying going on as the amount of mild illnesses and fatigue I get is really not normal but tests have not brought anything up except iron and b12 deficiency which Ive been supplementing at home for the last 18 months and have responded well to.

It looks exactly like a fungal rash my DD had. We got an anti-fungal cream from the GP and it disappeared in 5 days and has never returned.

Looks like viral uticaria

You beat me to that

Looks a bit like ringworm, but very hard to tell from the photos.

NashvilleQueen · 26/03/2024 23:06

Try rubbing Nirozal shampoo on it. You can buy in chemist.

I had a rash like this. The pharmacist thought it was ringworm but the GP said pityriasis herald (you would have a ‘herald patch’ I.e a round patch that appears before the rest of the rash. It lasted about 4 weeks for me unfortunately and spread out from my lower back, all over my body (even up into my hair)

3girlsunder3 · 26/03/2024 23:32

I also think maybe pityriasis rosea, as op said a herald patch - slightly larger -appears first usually o/around abdomen.
Have a google and see what you think -it’s vital and goes away after weeks.
Hope it disappears soon

Thank you all, I’ll have a look up of those things. I’m certain it isn’t ringworm but will definitely look up the others and see if they fit.

That's urticaria. Caused by allergy or autoimmune issue.

Okayornot · 27/03/2024 09:02

Could well be pityriasis rosea.
This tends to be on torso, in my case back and neck, often starts with a large patch and then the rest comes. I get it occasionally when I am run down and it will clear within a few weeks.

wineymummy · 27/03/2024 09:05

Looks just like the granuloma annulare I get on my feet. Non itchy, non contagious, no effective treatment. It's autoimmune and does come and go. Typically presents in circular patterns hence often confused for ringworm.

Confusedddddddd · 27/03/2024 14:50

Pityriasis, I even had it without the herald patch (or didn't notice it). Funnily enough a beach holiday got rid of it ( lI guessing the salty sea water helped), in case you need an excuse!
