Home visit by housing officer

I’m currently private renting in Kent but I’ve been pre offered a house on the housing list. Before that though the housing officer wants to come to my current home to do a visit and go through some things in person. Apparently this is standard. Does anyone know if the housing officer will inspect my house? My Aibu is that I’m worried I’ll be turned down because there is some maintenance issues in my current private let. Including some mould on bathroom ceiling because the window is broke and the extractor fan doesn’t work, all things I’ve reported but haven’t been done. Will the housing officer think I’ve caused this by myself? The kitchen ceiling hasn’t been painted as it was replastered but my landlord didn’t have it painted after. I’m just worried things like this will make the housing officer think I don’t look after properties. But I do and I keep it clean and tidy.

It's been a long time since I had a visit from a housing officer from when I got my HA house. But, as far as I can remember she wasn't interested in looking at my private rental. It was more about getting to know my circumstances, checking ID that kind of thing.

They want to know what kind of tenant you will be, so by observing you at home, they get the feel. Don't worry about repairs that are landlord responsibility. They want to see doors haven't been kicked in/your music isn't blasting etc.

When I got my housing association property 5 years ago, I never got a visit from anyone. I haven't since, as it happens.

Sorry, posted too before I finished. All I was asked for via email, was proof of income and that I don't have assets or savings, and an income & expenditure form to make sure I could afford the rent. That was it.
