To just eat lunch

A friend is coming over to help me paint the bathroom. I told her I would make lunch and to get here for 12.30. She still isn't here and the DC are starving. Her phone just goes to answerphone. Should I just feed them and wait to eat myself or should we all eat?

all eat.

definitely.

she is tres rude to be so late without letting you know.

fairyfly · 27/03/2008 13:24

Feed them and eat with your friend.

pleasechange · 27/03/2008 13:25

Definitely have lunch! Especially as you have DC's. She can eat if and when she arrives

Eat!

Lazycow · 27/03/2008 13:25

I would deffo eat and then get on with the painting - assuming she wasn't coming over to entertain the dc and to distract them from 'helping' (not sure how old your children are).

Put her lunch aside and she can eat it when she gets there.

Eat.
I can't stand tardiness and there's no excuse with mobile phones these days.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/03/2008 13:27

I have just put the DC's food out and will wait until I hear from her.
I can't get on with the painting. It is a job that requires at least one person to be not covered in paint and able to deal with a tot emergency.

She just called and is still at home. Her dog is runny pooing.

I might just get on with it.

I have got small bottles of beer, a wireless radio and crisps ready for us when we start.

She's only just called!?
I'd be cross. I have a friend who is frequently late and it makes me . When I mention it, she just laughs and says I am too uptight.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/03/2008 13:49

I can't be cross with her as she is doing me a favour really.

Ah, well, true, very true...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/03/2008 13:49

However I agree it is only right to update people when you have plans.

Hope she's not bringing the pooing dog, lol!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/03/2008 13:57

I would bitchslap her if she did

She still hasn't left . I may just tackle it myself. Old jeans and 90's band t shirt at the ready.

I have just finished decorating our bedroom and living room and the thought of doing it with my ds around brings me out in a cold sweat.

We were using a steam stripper etc and we live in a very small flat so we tend to be a bit on top of each other anyway but still I am full of admiration for someone able to decosrate while there are small children around and no other distracting adult !

sparklyfairypie · 28/03/2008 10:56

what you should have done tdvp is banned your kids from watching tv for a week....then when you want to paint let them watch it again and they will sit glued lol

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/03/2008 11:55

They won't watch tv, it's a pain in the arse sometimes.

We changed the plan and she came over after bedtime and we did it then, and got slightly tipsy too. Very fun.
The downside is that with the gleaming paint everything else looks filthy, even though it's a brand new bathroom. Grrr.
))runs of to scrub the taps again((

Much better plan to do after bedtome, we did almost all of our then.
