Dosage for Junior Ibuprofen

I have two bottles of Junior Ibuprofen on the go, one Calprofen branded and one Sainsbury's own brand. When giving it to my one year old I noticed that each bottle has a different dosage for him. The own brand one says 5ml three times a day for ages 1 to 4 and the Calprofen brand one says 2.5ml three to four times a day for ages 1-2. They are the same strength (100mg/5ml). What's going on here? Have I been overdosing my one year old on the Sainsbury's dose?

How old is the child? They're two different age brackets.

He's 16 months

Sorry. Just seen it. Just follow the instructions from the bottle but unlikely to have caused problems.

Children's nurofen always has a higher dose allowed compared to calprofen too. You won't have been overdosing.

Also on the calprofen it says 3-4 doses of the lower amount rather than just 3 doses although the total is still below the other brand.

It was always the nurofen I used

From BNF:

Child 1–3 years
100 mg 3 times a day, maximum daily dose to be given in 3–4 divided doses; maximum 30 mg/kg per day.
